Bender Cain Interview’s Brandi Love 

Before we start I want to thank you, Brandi, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to sit down with us here at Cam Life Magazine to answer some questions for our readers.

Bender: Now Brandi, of course, you are a legend, an icon a true pioneer in the world of adult entertainment. So when did you first become aware of live Cam community and the ability to connect with your fans around the world?

Brandi: I actually started camming back in 2004 on CamZ! These were members only shows accessed though my website, but they were also available to members of CamZ. I was fairly consistent with it up until about 2006 but I didn’t really understand how to utilize live camming as a means to generate income. I really used it for member interaction and retention. Then I basically forgot about camming until 2012 when I decided to really dig in and attempt to understand it. I’ve been slowly but surely increasing my time on cam ever since.

Bender: So Brandi you broadcasted on several cam platforms including streammate, camz and camsoda do you have a favorite platform?

Brandi: Over the years I have had an opportunity to connect with fans on numerous platforms. They have each had their benefits and challenges. For the past two years, I have been exclusive with CamSoda and couldn’t be happier. The team they have in place makes camming fun! I have an actual person I can call if I need anything, they implement new features often which keeps things fresh and their tech just works. They treat me like I’m part of their team and I really appreciate that.

Bender: What would you say the biggest differences between the adult film industry and a live webcam industry?

Brandi: While both are based on exploring & fulfilling fantasies, the live cam experience allows me to explore this in a very personal one to one way. Every single person is unique.

Bender: Why do you think so many adult film stars are taking advantage of the opportunities that camming in has to offer financially and of course to help build their brand?

Brandi: Just like the music industry, the adult entertainment industry has evolved. There are multiple avenues to connect with fans and to earn an income. For me personally, the live experience is one that I genuinely enjoy. It’s an experience that is authentic, present and tailored to each and every individual. Best of all, It can’t be stolen or imitated.

Bender: How would you say the camming has changed the adult entertainment industry?

Brandi: I can’t speak for the industry, but for me, as a Porsnstrar it now represents a significant portion of my adult activity and income. It’s something I can do from anywhere as long as I have an internet connection. It’s a way for fans to have a private, one on one experience with me. The live session is a safe and secure environment where we can explore the things they may be apprehensive about sharing with others. There are so many people out there who feel they will be judged for their kinks. With me, in this environment, they know they are safe .. they are free to have fun without fear of being judged.

Bender: Can you tell us a little how you prepare for a day on Cam?

Brandi: I think it’s important to keep things unpredictable on cam. When you work out of a home office, it’s easy to become complacent. Same can happen on cam .. and when it does.. you can feel it in the energy levels of the performer and the fans. To keep things “unpredictable” I like to plan ahead. Location, outfits, toys, lighting, etc … thought & planning goes into all of these things.

Bender: What is a typical day on cam like for you?

Brandi: I’m not sure there is such a thing as a typical day which is one of the reasons live cam is so fun!

Bender: Of course you are a legend in the adult entertainment industry and icon if you will and a true pioneer. Your work has been recognized with more Awards than we can count you have appeared on mainstream media such as Penn and Teller bullshitt by the way I love that episode. So with your busy career in adult films and camming how do you balance your personal life in your professional life?

Brandi: For me, having a balanced life is all about three things: (a)The people in my life & (b) Making a plan & working that plan & (c) Living outside of LA.

None of this would be possible without the love, support and involvement of my husband & family. It’s not easy being married to a Pornstar… It’s not easy being the parent or relative of one either. My husband is a saint. He loves me unconditionally, relishes in our adult fun and lets the daily hate mail, tweets, snaps, etc just roll off his back like it’s nothing. We also work closely together with both on and off camera so we always have something to laugh about and work on. My family understands that the only difference between my sex life and theirs is the camera. Everyone is fiercely defensive of me and always makes me feel loved. Truth is … I love what I do in adult entertainment and in our mainstream businesses. Work doesn’t feel like work.

Secondly, I am a make a strategic plan & then work that plan kind of woman. It gives me plenty of balance as I work activities like hiking/exercise into my daily routine … Or our Thursday night trivia “league” at the local bar. I work hard but I play hard to & always set aside time to relax at the end of each day.

Lastly, although there are disadvantages to living outside LA, the benefits make up for it. When I leave LA, I head back to a place where my circle of friends works in finance, tech, medical, management, etc. Our conversations aren’t centered around industry gossip or the business of adult entertainment. When I go home, I’m just another southern woman doing the things we do in Raleigh NC. It’s so domestic and “normal” that it kind of naturally builds in “balance”.

Bender: This goes along with our last question how important is it to have balance?

Brandi: For me, it’s essential to my happiness. I always know when things are out of balance because I start to feel like everything is chaotic. I loathe chaos.

Bender: Of course Brandy, you’re an amazing shape how do you stay so fit?

Brandi: The how has changed as I’ve aged lol! Now that I’m in my “MILFY” years it’s all about a low carb lifestyle, intermittent fasting and a combination of HIIT workouts, and low-intensity resistance training, cardio, and yoga.

Bender: Why do you think so many adult film stars we’re transitioning or supplementing their careers with camming?

Brandi: I think everyone’s reasons are personal. For me, it’s multifaceted.

i. I get to be in the comfort of my home or with my husband and earn a scene rate in half the time. Camming for those of us who live outside of LA is actually much more profitable that shooting scenes. When you are at home on cam, you don’t have the expense of flights, hotels, meals, local transportation, etc.

ii. It keeps things new and exciting. I don’t care what business you are in, things can get “routine”. Live cam gives me the variety that I crave professionally.

iii. The Sociology / Psychology of it. My husband & I have spoken at Universities across the country on topics related to alternative relationships and human sexuality. So many people feel trapped or ashamed by their desires. Being able to help by simply listening gives me a tremendous sense of joy. You would be amazed at how often we just talk in my private cam sessions.

Bender: We hear cam Life magazine believe that the live webcam industry is more than just a billion-dollar business it is a community of models entrepreneurs and influencers the truly want each other to do well what are your thoughts on this?

Brandi: In the spirit of full transparency … I’m not sure I can answer that lol! If there is one thing I don’t love about my career path, it’s being professionally isolated. I don’t work out of a typical office where there are colleagues. I don’t live in LA where many of my colleagues live. On cam, it’s just me and or my husband & I. I wish there was more opportunity for me personally, to socialize amongst the models and business owners.

Bender: What advice would you give to a newcomer wanting to enter the live webcam industry?

Brandi: You be you always in all ways. 🙂

Bender: How do you as a businesswoman in a performer see the cam industry in the next 5 years?

Brandi: I think the live cam industry is in its infancy, to be honest. It will be interesting to see how fast it evolves. There is a risk in evolving faster than your user base. I suspect technologies such as VR, holographs, etc will at some point make their way into the live cam space. But it may be better to focus on implementing tools and “games” to make the live experience fun & different for models and fans before diving headfirst into VR. It may be better to develop a stable, latency-free stream that is free of Flash (Red5) & clunky code. The market has a way of telling us where we should go… we just have to be willing to adapt and move. I think the next 10-15 years will be exciting to watch!

Bender: How important is having good PR to Growing the Brandi Love brand? 

Brandi: There is a tricky relationship/between Public Relations (PR) and Marketing. The companies that work with does a great job of marketing scenes. My agents at Nexxxt Level are always testing & evaluating the right scenes for the brand & my dear friends at Rising Star PR do a great job of getting the word out about new scenes, nominations, business deals, etc.

That said, the definition of PR: “the professional maintenance of a favorable public image by a company or other organization or a famous person.” is something that I have handled myself (to the dismay of the professionals lol!) I don’t have anyone telling me what to say or whether or not to take a position on something newsworthy. I’m not a “neutral” person. I’m passionate & I speak my mind. I don’t try to please everyone i.e. maintain a favorable public image. It’s much more genuine for me to simply be me.

Bender: So Brandy you have a legion of loyal fans a massive Twitter and Instagram following which I’m proud to say that I personally follow both and happy that you follow back but as we know not all fans or well-behaved so how do you deal with rude fans on the internet?

Brandi: I am constantly told to ignore the trolls. I believe that is a weak position to take. Trolls are the same as bullies. Bullies only learn when they get their nose bloodied. So instead I take the opportunity to develop a thicker, Teflon skin & I embarrass them. I fight back without allowing my blood pressure to rise. It’s strangely therapeutic!

Bender: What would you say is the kinkiest request you’ve ever had to remember on your cam show?

Brandi: I never shit and tell!

Bender: What sets your cam show apart from other performers what makes it special or different?

Brandi: I honestly don’t think I’m all that and a bag of chips lol! I try to give fans unique or beautiful locations, interesting camera angles, and excellent video quality. Beyond that I am just me being me… and in privates I let the fan direct the fantasy. One thing that is always unique is that many of my fans have my Fleshlight so they can actually masturbate with my pussy …or ass while we cam.. that’s pretty hot!

Bender: As a businesswoman and a performer how important is it to diversify your content and what advice would you give to other performers about using multiple platforms in generating multiple streams of income?

Brandi: Actors, athletes, musicians, etc are always looking to diversify their exposure and revenue streams. It’s no different in adult entertainment. I like to pick 3-4 mediums and focus!

Bender: Do you have a set camming schedule and if so how can new members they want to see your show for the first time find you?

Brandi: While I don’t have a set schedule due to my other responsibilities, I always keep people informed through Twitter & Instagram. Also, CamSoda has a great tool that will alert you when I’m online!

Bender: Do you have any new projects coming up that you would like your fans to know about?

Brandi: Yes! Bender: What social media do you use other than Twitter and Instagram and how our readers keep up with you and your career?

Brandi: The challenge with social media is that it can spread your efforts thin! There is just no way to keep up with all the platforms. Going into 2019 I will only be focussed on three platforms:

Twitter (twitter.com/brandi_love): Twitter is where you’ll find me being me lol! My timeline is lively & covers every topic you could think of! I don’t pull any punches on twitter so if you are looking purely for nude photos you’ll be disappointed. But if someone really wants to know the “whole” me .. Twitter is the place to go!

Instagram (instagram.com/brandi_love): My Instagram feed is a Safe for  Work photo story of my events and life. With over a million followers things move fast!

Snapchat Free (the brand love): Snapchat is where fans truly get the experience of my life behind the scenes. Brandi: Thrilled!! The Live Cam experience is something that represents a significant portion of my “job”. Anytime you are positively recognized for doing something in your field, it’s an honor!

Bender: I know that you attend a lot of events such as AVN and xbiz how important is it for cam model to attend these events in person to normally interact with their fans but to develop business relationships within the industry?

Brandi: That’s a tough one to answer! Being a Pornstar means you have accepted the exposure, fame, and infamy that comes with it. I know a number of cam models that chose camming because they can remain relatively anonymous. In my opinion, attending events or not depends solely on what you are trying to achieve.

Bender: Do you have any guilty pleasures?

Brandi: More than I’d like to admit to! One not many people know about … 7Up Cake!

Bender: What is your favorite aphrodisiac? 

Brandi: I’m not so sure that the things people consider aphrodisiacs actually work. For me… it’s a welcomed kiss on the neck! Sends shivers and warm thoughts throughout my mind & body!
