Cam Life Icon Spotlight Jessica Wilde

When I was asked “who should be the September icon spotlight be?” my immediate response was “Duh. Jessica Wilde MFC.” which is what I knew her as. Now, I know her as much more after I properly creeped the beautiful fun, Jessica Wilde, online. She’s a legend on MFC, YouTube star, writer, host, influencer, business owner, and successful tattoo model who’s graced the cover of every published tattoo magazine. You can even rock her name on your t-shirt if you were lucky enough to get her limited edition floral branded merch. With all this success it’s clear to see fans adore her, but with the Internet and social media bursting with beautiful women what is it about this Canadian cam girl that makes fans so crazy?

Let’s start with my favorite thing about Jessica. Her AWESOME SENSE OF HUMOR! Being a silly bitch myself, I have a deep appreciation for women with the smarts to make us laugh who don’t take themselves too seriously. A perfect example of this is her #RoastMe series where she trolls her fan’s Instagram profiles. No one gets offended. How could you after you hear the disclaimer at the beginning of the video? My favorite part is where she shows her years of experience as an Internet personality “I’m not hitting on people. I’m not being malicious.” Only a cam model would think to put these two disclaimers side by side. Her reason for the roasting Jessica explains is to add fuel to the fire when it comes time for her fans to roast her. Cute.

Another thing that makes Jessica Wilde special is she understood early on that SFW (safe for work or non-nude) content is a powerful tool for gaining an audience. She knew it was more than just being yourself and promoting your shows on different social platforms. She was funny, gorgeous, sexy, and most importantly shareable. This savvy marketing decision allowed her to expand her audience, build her brand, and turn it into a business.

The self-proclaimed ‘awkward’ star makes no secret of her time online and owns her beginnings as a cam model. For me, this is an important part of her story. With the camming industry still in its adolescence, there hasn’t been time to grow many self-made role models, so when I see people like Jessica Wilde I’m compelled to share their story.

Any preconceived notions about camming or what models can achieve were redefined when Miss Wilde made her mark on the industry. Then, in 2015 Jessica was spotted by INKED magazine and blessed the cover of their ‘Pin-Up’ issue her main-stream modeling career was born. Brands want access to her “unique audience”, and INKED magazine has her write a monthly column “Wilde about sex”.

“Instagram and social media are not really what it seems and there’s a lot going on in people’s personal lives that they don’t post or put out there. So I think it’s important to talk about the truth and what was going on with me at the time.”

Jessica, wherever your career takes you, don’t forget you have a troop of cam models cheering you on. You’re a businesswoman, a leader, and seriously hot. What more could we ask for in an icon? We love you, Miss. Wilde XOXO
