CamLife Interviews Brielle Day.
CamLife Interviews Brielle Day in this issue of we have the privilege of sitting down with Live webcam performer & CamLife Cover Model Brielle Day.
Bender – Before we start I’d like to thank you, Briellefor reaching out to us here at CamLife and agreeing to sit down with us for this interview.
Bender – So Brielle how long have you been Camming?
Brielle – I’ve been a webcam model since 2011 and will be celebrating a decade in adult at the end of the month!
Bender – What made you decide to become a live webcam model?
Brielle – Growing up, entertaining was truly a passion for me. I was heavily involved in theatre, choir, and dance and when I turned 18, I joined a local burlesque dance company where I was able to perform self-created routines on stage for a live audience. Being paid to entertain was incredible and I was instantly hooked. After about a year, I started to do more erotic (full nude) performances at private parties, and soon after, I was introduced to webcamming by a close friend of mine. I was in college at the time, while also holding several jobs, and performing burlesque multiple times a week on top of that was both physically and mentally draining. I instantly fell in love with the idea of being able to perform in the comfort of my own home, in between work and my studies, and doing it all on my own schedule. Eventually, my audience grew from a handful of people to hundreds… then thousands. I was addicted. Finally, I graduated college and had a decision to make, start a marketing business using my college degrees or continue performing. I did both at first but then in 2014, I sold my marketing business and made the decision to pursue adult entertainment full time. The rest is history!
Bender – What did you do before becoming a live webcam model?
Brielle – In the years right before camming, I held full-time jobs while finishing my college degree. I spent 4 years working in aviation doing aircraft repossession then 4 years in nonprofit management, all while moonlighting as a burlesque dancer/private party stripper and doing side gigs for extra cash. My schedule was insanely busy but I loved every minute of it! After graduating, I started my own marketing company but that eventually fell to the wayside as I decided to pursue a career in adult.
Bender – Now Brielle I understand that you have always been drawn to the Performing Arts, with having a background in dance including ballet, hip hop, tap dance, and jazz can you tell our readers a bit about this.
Brielle – I started in dance classes when I was a toddler. My mom was a ballet teacher when I was younger and she wanted me to follow in her footsteps, exploring dance as an art form and possible future career. Her biggest goal in life was to become a professional dancer in New York city but she had me at a young age and wasn’t able to live out her dream. Every year, she enrolled me in new classes, so I could test out different forms of dance and I eventually joined the dance teams in both high school and college where we went on to win several dance competitions. After graduating, I stopped attending official dance classes but I do miss them!
Bender – Speaking of dance I hear that you have I love for burlesque, which is the main reason I’m doing this interview with you instead of one of our staff writers, I have I history with burlesque myself my grandfather owned several traditional burlesque clubs in the 40s. So Brielle what is it that you love the most about this amazing art form?
Brielle – I remember the first time I saw a live burlesque performance and it was magical. The lights dimmed, the crowd went silent, and the most beautiful burlesque dancers walked out on stage. They captivated me, they turned me on, they made me wide-eyed – I had never seen such a sensual and enchanting performance. I was instantly hooked. After they performed, we spoke and they asked if I wanted to work with them as they were looking for new dancers. I agreed, trained with them over the next few weeks, and ended up performing with them every weekend for the next five years. The art of the tease is hypnotizing to both watches and be a part of.
Bender – How did your family and friends feel about your decision to become a live webcam performer?
Brielle – Everyone has their own personal opinion of my work, and of course, I have lost friends along the way who don’t understand what I do, but for the most part, my social circle has been very supportive of my career and is proud of me. I feel very lucky.
Bender – Now Brielle you broadcast cast MFC what made you choose Myfreecams?
Brielle – MyFreeCams was the site recommended to me when I started camming a decade ago so I instantly signed up and I never looked back! The admin area all wonderful to work with and have been very supportive over the years. They were even gracious enough to donate prize packages to the Model Madness event I hosted earlier this year (for other cam models).
Bender – What can someone new to your cam room expect?
Brielle – We don’t take ourselves too seriously in my room! No matter what is going on in my room, you can assure me we are laughing and making the best of our time together. I love to be a goofy comedian as much as I love to be a smart ass. Whether we are just hanging out and sharing embarrassing stories over a couple of drinks, playing poker together, watching a movie, or just enjoying each other’s company, there is always a good time to be had in my chatroom. I also love the beauty of the female form so my shows focus on all aspects of sexuality – from my eyes to my neck to my naughty bits… outlining every curve with my fingers… the way my body moves to different music and the way my voice deepens and slows when I’m trying to be sultry… I try to make my sexy shows an experience. But all in all, I love to just have fun! If you’ve never seen a show, make sure to stop in. Everyone is welcome in my room!
Bender – What are your goals as a live webcam performer/clipartist?
Brielle – One of my biggest goals for the remainder of the year is to fill my clip sites with all of my new content! I have been filming a bunch of custom-ordered/fan-directed scenes that I need to finally upload so my fan base can enjoy! I just need to find the time to edit and get everything posted. Other than that, I am excited to branch out to a new live streaming platform, ePlay, as their newest Key Club member, unveil my brand-new website, celebrate a decade of being in the adult industry, and get back to attending conventions and collaborating with other performers.
Bender – What do you like the most about camming?
Brielle – I love the sense of community that camming enables. From being able to private message each other to making funny emotes, and even playing video games with my fans; my chatroom is truly a place where you can have fun and even make friends beyond the usual sexy stuff 😉
Bender – What do you like the least about the live Camming?
Brielle – One thing I don’t like about live camming is when shows don’t work out the way I plan them to. Whether it’s due to my internet going down, site tech issues, people not participating in chat, etc., every day is different and some live streams can be both mentally and physically draining.
Bender – Now Brielle in 2021 you won XBIZ Best Female Cam Model, what was it like to be recognized for your work within the live cam community?
Brielle – Winning the Best Female Cam model award at this year’s XBIZ Cam Awards was a life-changing moment. I was in utter shock when I heard my name being called! I love this industry and have really focused on learning and growing the “Brielle Day” brand, as well as tried to be more involved in industry events and establish myself as a community leader over the last several years. Being recognized and nominated next to so many other truly incredible performers, let alone winning, has been such an amazing honor.
Bender – How do you express your creative side with your sense of fashion, visual content style, cam room decor, and lighting, etc?
Brielle – My style is constantly evolving. I have a wide range of looks from playful and cute to sexy and domineering and love picking outfits based on how I feel when I wake up. I also have a large bin of backdrops, wall décor, and curtains as well as different lighting setups and colored lightbulbs for when I want to change the look and mood of my cam room. And don’t get me started on makeup, wigs, jewelry, and lingerie when I want to bring out my more fun side or try new looks for my fans; I have an entire guest bedroom dedicated to wardrobe and accessories and multiple closets full of camming and filming gear that I’m regularly playing around with to create something new for my fans.
Bender – What is your strategy for marketing & social media
Brielle – I am a marketing graduate so I could talk for hours about this but I have an account on all the bigger social sites like Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, etc., try to post regularly to my social media, and try to really engage with my fanbase across all my platforms (which can be very time consuming but worth it!). And I make sure to communicate to my followers when I’m having sales, special upcoming shows, live stream/clip release schedules, etc. using all of my platforms, press releases, discussion boards, and any other way of getting the word out. I also make sure to follow the rules and regulations on all sites so I don’t have the possibility of getting my accounts deleted (although as we all know, sometimes you can follow all the rules and still get deleted::eye roll::).
Bender – What advice would you give to someone new to Camming?
Brielle – My main advice would be to do your research before you really jump in. There are so many forums and sites that have amazing advice for new, and even already established, web cam models. I would also recommend watching other cam models during their live streams, paying particular attention to how they engage with their fans, what kinds of shows and topics they do, how they get a quiet room going again, etc. Some long-time models will even provide coaching if needed!
Bender – What is a typical day like for you when you are not on Cam?
Brielle – Every day I wake up, check/respond to messages across my platforms, and am pretty much at my desk doing behind-the-scenes work (editing, taking custom orders, scheduling social media posts, writing press releases, planning special shows, etc.) and/or filming. Then I try to squeeze in a workout, shower and eat, and get right back to my long to-do list, continually answering hundreds of messages until I finally go to sleep. I usually am exhausted by the time the sun goes down. I swear there are not enough hours in a day!
Bender – What is a typical day like for you when you are on cam?
Brielle – The days I cam are not too different from my off-cam days. As I said, there are not enough hours in a day so every day is pretty jam-packed for me especially with all the projects I am currently juggling, but these days tend to get even crazier with the addition of a 3-8 hour live stream in the evening. I am currently rearranging my schedule and in the middle of hiring an assistant so I can have them take some of the workloads off my shoulders and I can focus more on filming and live streaming versus spending most of my time doing admin work.
Bender – How do you balance premium and free OnlyFans feeds?
Brielle – My free OnlyFans page is essentially another place where I post the same SFW photos/videos from my social media accounts as well as sell new content, advertise older videos, run sales, answer paid DMs, and take custom video orders. I tend to update weekly but spend much more time on my premium page. My paid page is all of the above and more, including regular posting to my main feed and story, first access to my brand-new content, behind-the-scenes looks in the life of an adult entertainer, private messaging, discounts on content, and more. Both OnlyFans pages see my newest content first before I post to any of my clip sites or release publicly and I also regularly send out OnlyFans-exclusive content that you will not find anywhere else! It can be a lot to handle but I have multiple calendars that help me stay on track with both pages.
Bender – What would you change about the live cam industry if you could?
Brielle – If I could change anything about the live cam industry, it would be the stigma that people have about adult performers. So many people think cam performers, and those in the adult industry in general, do not work hard at our jobs or lack intelligence or morals and that couldn’t be further from the truth. I have learned more than ever before while working in this industry, am a better person because of it, and am forever grateful to be a part of it.
Bender – What sets your cam show apart from other performers?
Brielle – I don’t like to compare myself to other performers because nobody is truly better than the other, we just all do things differently. But I would say my cam room has a lot of sass and silliness, whereas a lot of other performers focus on pure sexuality. Don’t get me wrong, I love to put on a truly erotic show for my viewers, but I think I like making them laugh even more 😛
Bender – Now you are in amazing shape how do you stay so fit?
Brielle – Thank you for saying that! I used to work out 7 days a week but when the pandemic hit, that all changed and I became a homebody like most others did, falling completely out of my gym routine. So instead of working out, I was working in my garden, walking around my neighborhood, and just trying to eat as healthy and lean as I could (although that can be so difficult especially with so many yummy snacks out there haha). I’m trying to get back into the swing of things though and recently finished putting my home gym together, finally breaking down and buying a stair stepper and a bunch of new equipment. I now try to train at least 3 times a week and do yoga every night before my live streams and/or before bed.
Bender – What is your favorite aphrodisiac?
Brielle – ::pulls up list of aphrodisiacs on the internet:: I would say 100% food in general because I am such a foodie and love to go out and try new restaurants/types of cuisine regularly; After that possibly alcohol/marijuana. Whiskey makes me frisky after all… and makes me have less of a gag reflex hehe 😉
Bender – Now a lot of people use the term sex worker to describe cam models & clip artists, we here at CamLife Magazine feel this is an inaccurate description of the live webcam Community. Yes, of course, there is a sexual aspect to Camming but it is much more than that there is the aspect of building the human connection with your viewers what are your thoughts on this?
Brielle – I believe the term “sex worker” was brought to fruition and used for the first time by activist Carol Leigh in the 80s as a term that could collectively describe all who worked in the adult industry, instead of using the term “prostitute” or similar wording, while protesting for sex worker rights. In this way, she believed that protests would be taken more seriously since words like “prostitute” typically have a negative connotation associated with them, and that more members of the sex industry could be represented at protests and the like. I do agree that live streamers do far more than the traditional idea of sex work but each individual performer should be able to refer to themselves as whatever they would like to!
Bender – What was your reaction when you found out that you were going to be featured on the cover of CamLife?
Brielle – I was ecstatic and in awe! It is such an honor to appear on the cover! I am forever grateful for this opportunity,
Bender – If you had to spend a week alone on a desert island what three things would you bring with you?
Brielle – This is tough! The first 3 things that came to my mind were a vibrator, sunscreen and water or food of some kind. One week stranded isn’t that bad to be honest… I would just have to practice fishing before I left 😛
Bender – How important is it for you to have balance in your personal life and your life on Cam?
Brielle – Having a work-life balance is so important. In my earlier years of webcamming, I wouldn’t see friends or family for months and was regularly RSVP’ing “no” to parties so I could cam instead. I was so focused on getting my hours in, ranking high, and became truly obsessed with work. After the pandemic, my whole mindset changed because you truly never know how many days you have left with your loved ones. These days, I make sure to spend time with family and friends every chance I get, and my fans are so understanding and supportive of me taking time away, which is a very special thing. They want what is best for me, and now that I understand that, I take time for myself when I need it and am so much happier/balanced in life.
Bender – Brielle can you tell our readers a bit about your real-life hobbies and what you’re like when the cameras are off and you’re relaxing?
Brielle – When I’m not working, I love to watch movies, play video and board games, cook decadent dinners, work on my garden, go camping and hiking – anything in nature really – and just spend time with friends and family as well as my two cats, Mister Fish, and Charlotte. I’m also extremely passionate about helping others and the environment so I volunteer at events and raise money for causes as much as I can.
Bender – What social media do use?
Brielle – The main social media accounts I use are Instagram and Twitter! Both accounts can be found @itsbrielleday. My semi-public Snapchat account is @brielledaysnap and all my other links can be found at allmylinks
