CamLife Interviews Scarlet Lyone

CamLife  Interviews Scarlet Lyone. Devan Cypher sits down with Australian cam model & content creator Scarlet Lyone for an exclusive interview.

What’s it like growing up in Perth?

It was great growing up here, Western Australia as a whole is super scenic and there are so many hidden gems to visit/explore if you’re an outdoor person. Perth is quiet but not too slow which is a nice balance with a laid-back type of vibe. You practically grow up with beach living and I never really appreciated it until now, but, because Perth/AUS catches on to ‘world’ trends a little slower than everywhere else, as a kid it was nice to have that ‘shade’. I feel like my childhood was quite ‘organic’ which is nice to say. I don’t feel like a lot of kids these days can say the same.

When did you decide to create adult content? What led to the decision to cross that line and go pro?

I have always been an incredibly sexual person and that’s undeniable, from the way I communicate to others to the way I walk and dress. They say we all have a specific ‘love language’ physical touch is one of the 5 love languages; sex is my love language, but that doesn’t only mean physical touch; it’s the way I think, the way I speak, the way I perceive the world.

Social media played a big part in the inspiration to pursue adult content. Initially, I started with filming my workouts (when that started really trending) which naturally morphed into taking those typical bikini pics and there’s nowhere better encourage that than in Australia, I mean, we have warm weather for half the year live on the beach, right?!

Everyone was doing it. I think it’s pretty easy to make that switch from taking bikini pics and filming yourself in leggings doing squats at the gym to taking videos of yourself in lingerie at home, which is how it started.

I guess it was the style of how I shot my workout videos, slow mo, low angles, close ups of my ass. That’s enough to get the attention of males, right? When I started, it wasn’t intentional, it was just my ‘style’ from the get-go. I started to gain traction on social media for these videos quickly and before I knew it, I had something like a 95% male audience on social media and the rest is history.

In 2016 OnlyFans was introduced and an influencer from my city made it huge, fast. No one really comes from Perth who makes it big in media and entertainment until her. I watched her for years before that, mainly because of her unique ‘focus’ on sports and her level of confidence. There was definitely a sexual edge to her and, like me, she had a massive male following. If she could do it, then I could too.

So, I dipped my toes in selling my more risqué content on Snapchat in 2019 where I would take on 20 viewers in a month posting hot pics/vids on a daily basis to experiment what it would take to do it fulltime, it was received pretty well, and I had so many requests to start an OnlyFans for more people to access my content.

I did it for about 8 months while doing my research into OnlyFans and the adult industry because I knew that if I took this route, I’d want to be 100% certain it was for me and I was under the impression that you ‘can’t go back’ once you’re there, I mean your nudes are all over the internet.

Little did I know that I would actually love that… I want the whole world to see me naked! The love grew for what I was doing with snapchat and in 2020, decided to build my own platform/website from scratch rather than becoming a performer on OnlyFans and this was the best decision I have ever made.

How did your friends and family react to learning you were now doing full adult content? Is it a big deal in Australia?

Close friends were supportive of my decision to pursue the adult industry, and this meant only few friends and others were extremely judgmental. My family are quite conservative, if you want to say, ‘traditional’. We came from a heavily religious background so this tough for me. They hold their own negative opinions on the adult industry and the idea of porn, but it was really all about how I approached them about my decision. It took them a while to accept but their main concern is my safety. It stems back to; this is something I have a burning passion for and something I don’t go a day without thinking about – if I can’t express myself and be happy, what’s the point of being human and living? It’s my life and I get one shot at it.

When the platform OnlyFans was first introduced, the stigma increased. Australia supports topics like freedom of sexuality, but adult film/porn is not widely accepted here, I think that because of this there aren’t ‘many’ who pursue creating adult content full time.

It’s not that Australia is overly conservative. The entertainment and media industries are not big here. Take for example, it’s a laughing topic when someone claims they are an ‘influencer’. The common reaction is that it’s not a ‘real’ job, so imagine what it’s like for the online adult industry. Theres a lot of focus on this generation to pursue a university degree or take up a qualification in trade work in Australia. It’s illegal to film XXX content (except for one part of the country which is still considered a ‘grey’ area) Australia doesn’t have a great relationship with adult content, mainly because we focus on the negative connotations related to the sex industry and it’s not something I see getting ‘better’ for years and years to come.

Can you share with us details or feelings you had about your first few shoots?

I’ve never really felt nervous in front of a photographer because I’ve done so much behind a camera

Many performers today rely on platforms like OnlyFans to sell their content. You chose not to go that route, using them for promotion while building your own platform instead. Why?

Love this question. There are several reasons, but it all comes down to control. Explicit content, even though today, being more popular to ‘do it’ still holds is ‘value’ as its sensitive. Theres not much more intimate you can go on a screen that’s so accessible than spreading your legs and playing with your pussy, right?

From a business standpoint and even as a human being, I thought to myself; why allow someone else dictate what prices you set and what commission is taken from my earnings? I know everyone needs to make money and I am aware of the work that goes into building a platform, rightly so should platform creators put a price tag on the hard yards it takes to building/maintaining it.

I knew from day one that my career in the adult industry is long term, this about my name, my brand and my legacy. The versatility creating your own platform offers is unlimited. At the end of the day, I am in control, I make the rules and I can say, do and release any content I want to, you can’t put a price on freedom.

In terms of any features, I ‘invent’ of in the future to add to the site, the possibilities are endless and even though it’s more difficult than starting an account on someone else’s platform and just start dropping content, building my own is worth all of that; endless possibility, total control, legacy, something I own in every single way. There are already extensions to the site that I have in mind that are not seen on any other platforms and I’m so excited to roll them out, but of course, all in good time.

What are the benefits of having your own platform? Do you feel there are any real downsides to it?

Building your own product will always have its pros and cons. Absolutely there are downsides to it, but the advantages heavily outweigh the disadvantages in the case of my website.

It’s like any business, you do your research, find the right design/IT team, a legal team and accounting team to help you move towards your goal of how you want your platform to perform in terms of its functionality, safety, and aesthetics, let alone the right photographer/videographer to help you deliver. This can be challenging and initially I had no idea where to start, I’ve made a few mistakes and that can be frustrating. It’s about your ability to adapt and react to a forever changing market again, like any business is, it requires a lot of time and attention, but I wouldn’t say that’s a ‘downside’ because what you put in is what you get out of it.

What kinds of content can members access on your site and how often do you update it?

I release new content every single day, sometimes several times in one day and that’s been true since day one. I keep a balance of both photo and video content, shot with my phone and by pro photographers. I get a kick out of knowing that my site members know they’ll see something new each day of the week and it’s gotten to a point where some even wake up excited to see what I’ve got instore for them. Theres nothing more satisfying than knowing this about something that you have created.

Both my R rated and XXX content are accessible to view as a site member. It keeps things exciting, and it challenges me as a performer. The more time you pour into creating content, the better you get at it, like any skill.

What is SL Super Bowl Sunday?

Only everyone’s favourite day of the week! Each week I create a visual ‘masterpiece’ release (usually this is in the form of a video). It’s released for the club to view on the Sunday of that week. As a tribute to the 95% American based viewers who make up the site’s audience, I invented the ‘SL Superbowl Sunday’.

They love this concept. It has a ring to it and the association of the excitement and anticipation of one of sports most iconic events makes it even better.

What’s your most popular content so far?

In terms of site releases for club viewing, it’s my girl-on-girl content or the content I’ve made with my most recent sex toy purchase, the Hi Smith Premium Fuck machine. The club went crazy when I bought it (only a couple of weeks ago). Custom content with my new machine, Romeo (named because he fucks me so hard, I can feel it in my heart) has flown.

It can be controlled with an app to use on me, there are so many settings on this machine. I guess you could say, you can make me cum even when you’re 10,000 miles away in Texas and I’m in Australia. Custom content was an addition to the site that was introduced fairly recently, and this has just grown in popularity. I can see why; I like to give my viewer as much ‘control’ as they desire with these. The scenario, my outfit, what I say and do in your video, even the length of the video is all up to you. It’s all about making their fantasies come true.

If there were no limitations, what kind of scene would you shoot and who would be in it?

If we had no limitations, I’d say my ultimate pornographic scene to make is to be involved in a collaboration with the top 10 male and female porn stars in some sort of ridiculous location. It wouldn’t be a group sex/gang bang style scene, it’s more of a movie where the camera moves from 2/3 performers to the next in another room to film the next couple/trio. Almost like all of the greatest Pornhub star collaboration hits in one movie. Regardless of where Mia Malkova, Madison Ivy, Johnny Castle and Mick Blue sit with their porn star ‘rank’ they would definitely have to be part of my ultimate dream scene

What turns you on?

The list is endless! I can cum just by having my nipples played with/sucked on. Licking and sucking down my neck, having my wrists held down on my back while you fuck me from behind.

When I’m made to ‘wait’ with lots of foreplay but, only using your mouth, I love the tease almost as much as I love the ‘main course’. I have a huge thing for watching in the mirror as I get fucked (I don’t know! That could just be the adult entertainer coming out). Being touched suggestively or if you give me ‘that’ look in places where you might get ‘caught’ or seen, is also high on my list.

What turns you off?

Sexual arrogance and boasting are major turn off’s for me. I love confidence but when it goes too far, nothing can make me go from soaking wet to dessert dry in 0.0002 seconds like arrogance and boasting can.

What are you best at sexually?

My blowjob technique

What’s your favorite position?

At the moment it’s the even kneel position, with my legs spread right apart and taking it doggy style has always been a favourite of mine

Do you have a favorite body part?

Yes, my ass.

Have you always been attracted to women?

No, I haven’t, it’s something that’s relatively new. I’d say when I lived in Europe for a few years – that’s where my attraction for females started in a sexual way.

Male and female celebrity crush?

Male celeb crush is Ryan Reynolds and female crush is Scarlet Johannsen

Okay, the big question now… What took you so long to try camming?

Everything happens in stages and it’s no different to my approach in the adult industry. For the last year, I’ve been establishing my style of porn, experimenting with new concepts and camming had been on my mind since day one. Camming takes a whole new level of confidence to do it ‘well’ and I’m all about showing my face on the screen.

Confidence plays a major factor in the way I perform on screen, and I always want to deliver something worthwhile to my viewer, ensuring they have a good time as well as feeling confident in how I’ve delivered. The adult entertainers who began their careers camming on sites like Omelge probably wouldn’t feel that pressure but that’s not how I started.

Camming was a request that I’ve had multiple times and I just felt that I’m now at a point where I’m ready to do it, it offers another level of intimacy and I think in contrast to aiming to produce something ‘perfect’ for release on the site, seeing me/speaking to me on a facetime in real time offers another dimension of me to the site.

What helped you conquer your lingering doubts and fears?

One of my biggest fears was the idea that there are no retakes to the shots/footage, which is something I’m ‘used’ to. Camming was something I really wanted to do but initially, I was just so nervous! (Aren’t we all when trying something for the first time?) I took a different approach to camming, that it doesn’t need to be this ‘perfect’ production and listened to what members were actually telling me which was that they didn’t want perfection in this case. I have an insane support base for what I do and who I am, and I am beyond grateful for it all.

Tell us about your first-time camming and don’t leave anything out!

Haha it was just after I bought my HI-Smith premium fuck machine (which is revolutionary, btw) It’s an app-controlled fuck machine, so basically, I can give control to a user via their phone. I couldn’t think of a better way to break into camming than with this!

My first one on one live cam was with a member in the states. It was pretty cute, he had never experienced a live cam before, so we were both ‘virgins’ which created a little bit of margin for error, if you want to call it that. He didn’t know what to do, I had no idea how I’d go, I’ve never done it before! It started with a ‘general’ conversation, he’s been a site member from the beginning and kept saying he couldn’t believe he could see the ‘real’ person his screen in real time which actually helped calm my nerves a little.

I wore a grey zipper hoodie, but underneath it was a black leather harness set exposing my tits and no panties. I unzipped the hoodie, and he was like ‘Holy…shit” I was trying to be sexy, but I couldn’t help myself laughing. I had 2 toys with me, the fuck machine and a vibrator wand which I started with.

The adrenaline of the scenario really hyped me up and it’s rare that I do, but I squirted for him with just the vibrator, and he was speechless, admittedly I was too. I was soaking wet and then slid myself onto the dildo attachment of the machine and he made me cum three times (just with his phone, isn’t that amazing?) Initially it was only supposed to be a 20-minute camming session, but it ended up being almost two hours long, I actually lost track of time, I definitely enjoyed it and it was so good to watch him enjoy it too.

How are site members responding to your decision to add camming?

I heavily underestimated the desire for camming with me. I’ve had several sessions every day since it was introduced as an addition to the site. They are loving having the option to cam with me, it almost makes me want to say, ‘Why didn’t I do this sooner?!’ LOL

Do you think you’ll ever want to work on another platform like Camsoda or will you exclusively cam on your site for the foreseeable future?

At this point in time and for the foreseeable future camming will only be available to site members, loyalty to them and what I’ve worked so hard to build is a priority to me.

Where do you see yourself taking camming in the next year? What plans do you have for your site?

No plans as of yet and I know lots of adult entertainers offer multiple viewers in a live cam stream but as for now I want to keep it very intimate between myself and one viewer only (at a time). Collaborating with another performer is something I’d be interested in later down the track. I’ve had conversations with one of my good friends in the industry who is here in Perth, and we’ve thrown around some exciting ideas.

Are there any cammers you’d like to meet or work with one day?

Not as of yet, I’m still watching and learning other performers and this world is new to me but I’m so excited to start! I’m sure if you ask me the same question in a few weeks’ time I’ll have some names written down, there is so much talent out there!

You say you don’t perform with men on your site because you’re in a relationship with your site members and fans. Do you have any plans to perform with men in the future, either in content or on live cam?

Coming into the industry, being ‘different’ to other performers was always how I wanted to play it and how I wanted to be seen. When I started, a word that was being tossed around a lot was ‘exclusive’ and I feel like that’s now lost its meaning within the industry. The experience I offer as an adult entertainer is not what 90% of the industry offers.

Instead of being fucked by hundreds of different guys on camera and releasing that content (which I am totally aware that this is what lots of people want to see) Hence why Pornhub exists. To me, this is about intimacy, a personal experience and I deliver that with the interaction and how my content is released on the site as well as on social media.

Actually, knowing my audience; personally, is how I like it. It’s obviously a big request; to see me perform with a male and yes, this is something I will film/offer in the future, but I’ve picked my spot and I know how I want to do it/present it, like I’ve said, I want to be perceived as ‘different’. It’s funny; I get so many questions asking if I’m only interested in women because no one has seen me perform with a male as of yet, but the truth is that I love men and I love cock SO much that I started an entire business around my love for it.

On the contrary, there are a good number of viewers who have told me that they don’t want to see me perform with a male and this to me is the ultimate compliment because that indicates to me that what I am trying to deliver, as an adult entertainer is being received in the way I want it to; something so intimate and personal to them.

Who are some of your role models in business and in life?

In both life and in business, Elon Musk, Phil Knight, Hugh Hefner and Marilyn Munroe are all role models to me. Unbounded by unlimited creativity, they have all created something incredible and even revolutionary through a product or concept, they built their own empires from the ground up.

Hugh Hefner brought to life what started as an imaginary world to existence with Playboy Magazine and despite the stigma around the topic of sex, kept going. Marilyn Munroe was one of the greatest sexual revolutions in history and her boldness and bravery to make a point in society is something I think about all the time. Phil Knight and Elon Musk didn’t take no for an answer and always found a way to deliver their product, no matter how hard it got.

You have a background as a professional chef and still work for a few private clients. What are some of your signature dishes or deserts?

Haha yes, I do. My signature dishes are probably the eye filet steak dish and the lamb shanks on my current menu, they fly with my clients. It’s been suggested several times that I start a serious business, extend my services as a private and open up a restaurant but I’d rather take nudes and cum on camera than cook.

What’s your perfect ‘stranded on a desert island’ or ‘last meal on death row’ entrée? What makes you drool?

My nationality is Indonesian, and I’ve been to Bali so many times, it’s a street food, comes wrapped up in a banana leaf for 50 cents called Nasi Lemak. This dish literally makes me drool (it’s happening right now as I answer this question) so that would definitely be my ‘last meal on death row’ choice.

What are you passionate about outside of creating adult content?

I mean creating adult content is constantly on my mind even when I do something completely nonsexual which is funny. The passion is real with me. I’m an outdoorsy person. I like being outside, hitting the beach, cooking and playing sport. A little lame, but I do love watching nature documentaries or reading books/articles on what’s going on globally and how we can reverse the effects of manmade damages to the world we live in.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I’d like to take this opportunity to publicly thank my fans/supporters who have gotten me to where I am today, I’m nowhere near where I envision myself to be, not only as a performer, but where I plan on taking Scarletlyone.com and my club members.

There are so many things I want to do within the adult industry and give to the industry, but my focus lies with my fanbase and giving them the best, I can before anyone else. Without their insane support and love for what I do and being understood for the adult entertainer I am, none of this is possible and I’ll never be ignorant to that fact.

America has my heart and soul in this game, about 95% of my audience is American based and I truly feel that because of their strong influence in entertainment and media, it makes what I do and the magnified scale I am lucky enough to do it on, possible. The admiration ’ve been shown worldwide has been overwhelming in the best ways. So personally, from the bottom of my heart…thank you!
