CamLife Magazine Studio Spotlight Studio 20 LA
In this issue of CamLife Studio Spotlight is Studio 20. I first became aware of studio 20 when their PR.and marketing director Andra Chirnogeanu contacted us about interviewing some of their models for our other site Explicitlist.com
As many of you that are familiar with my writing with Explicitlist.com know, I have spent over 24 years in the adult nightclub industry. Working at some of the world’s biggest, best, and even some of the worst strip clubs on the planet.
Webcam or cam models are considered to be the Exotic Dancers or Pornstar of the Modern Age. If webcamming and cam modeling is the future of Erotic Entertainment, then webcam studio’s like Studio 20 will serve as a futuristic virtual venue that connects cam-models to such digital destinations as LiveJasmin and Flirt4Free. Last month, I was given a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes look at the world of webcam modeling at the world’s Number 1 webcam studio Studio 20.
Studio 20 was founded in 2000 in Bucharest, Romania by Mugur Frunzetti Studio 20 in 2015 and 2016, received, the international distinction, Best Live Cam Studio of the Year at one of the most important events in the industry, the GFY Awards. Additionally, one of their top-earning cam models, Devious Angel, won the Best Live Cam Model Personal Site prize at the Live Cam Awards gala.
In 2016, Frunzetti brought his creation to the US. Studio 20 LA is located in the heart of Hollywood just a few blocks from where the Oscar’s are held every year. Studio 20 LA is located at Fountain-Vine Plaza 1253 Vine Street #15 Los Angeles, CA 90038. The 5,300-square-foot studio on Vine Street, between Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards, is the sixth studio in the chain. They have five other locations in the Romanian cities of Bucharest, Timisoara, and Cluj-Napoca.
I was greeted by a very nice and professional receptionist who then lead me to an amazing meeting room. There, I waited for Studio 20’s LA Head of Operations Nicole. I couldn’t help but be impressed by a very clean modern and upscale interior. Studio 20 LA is unique compared to its European locations because it has a less foreign look to it giving it a more Western vibe.
In addition to a conference room, kitchen/break room, makeup and dressing room, the Vine Street studio. The Vine Street studio has 14 themed rooms including a surf room, a library (so you can live out that naughty fantasy about being disciplined by a sexy librarian), a shower for shower shows, several apartment-style rooms, and let’s not forget the stripper room, which was both mine (for obvious reasons) and Nicole’s favorite too.
When I sat down with Nicole in the conference room, we spoke for about an hour and a half. I was simply amazed by her insight, knowledge, and the care that she has for not only this business but also for the models. Before going to work for Frunzetti and Studio 20’s LA location, she worked in the Vivid Entertainment office and before that for Larry Flynt Publications while in college.
What about the models at Studio 20’s LA location? Well, they like their counterparts in Europe, offer something for everyone from the California girl next door to the sexy rocker chick to athletic sporty type. All women must be over 18 and under 35 before they begin working for Studio 20. But, looks and age aren’t as important as attitude. “It’s not like we only hire gorgeous women. The main thing we’re looking for is personality and ambition” says Nicole. She told me one of the models at Studio 20 LA that plays Led Zeppelin in the background when she is camming, and her popularity has skyrocketed and she has doubled her income.
Cam models don’t have to pay to join Studio 20, but they are also not guaranteed a salary. If they bring in customers, they can charge whatever they like, A good U.S. cam performer can earn $20,000 a month; Studio 20 keeps half of the gross, while the model gets the rest. Studio 20 works with some of the biggest cam sites across the globe. They make sure that their models are featured on the platform that suits them best in order to help them be as successful as possible.
My meeting with Nicole and tour of Studio 20 LA was the highlight of my trip to Los Angeles, and the entire staff is amazing—they’re some of the most professional people that I have ever met. The models were very nice and beautiful, and extremely happy with the results of Studio 20 and the financial benefits. One girl said the safety and anonymity, in addition to the money, make Studio 20 the only choice for her. As for me, I was extremely grateful for the time to get a look behind the scenes of a unique business. I truly appreciate what they have done.
