Becoming successful in the camming industry is more challenging than it seems, but with hard work, it is possible to achieve greatness. To be successful in the gigantic sea of models out there, you need to find your niche, your category, what makes you different, what sets you aside from all the models, and what makes you special. So how do you discover yourself?  

What I’ve learned from being a cam girl is that everybody is somebody’s type in this industry, therefore you need to discover yourself, see what your qualities are, and what you believe you can attract members with. 

When I first started as a cam girl, I had no idea what a niche was or category I wanted to choose. I just knew that I had big boobs and I was a brunette. Working with Studio20 made me realize that there’s so much more to defining your style than looks. 

There are a lot of categories, so as a model, you have a lot to choose from. For example, on LiveJasmin.com, you can find categories and subcategories, so you can mix and match the perfect ones for you, be it big breasts, brunette, Asian, ebony, petite, BBW or tattoos, piercings, latex, fetish, and so on. 

When starting out as a new model and you’re not sure about what your type is, or what you love to do on camera, you can define yourself by the categories on the websites you work with.

The first category is age: there are a lot of members out there who just want young 18-year-old girls or some who prefer a more mature woman. 

Then there is Ethnicity: Latin, white, Asian, ebony, there’s someone for everyone. You can define yourself by how you look if you’re petite or BBW if you have piercings or tattoos if you wear stockings or crazy outfits if your hair is short, long, blonde, or brunette, there’s always a category for every look. 

But don’t get caught up in that. You need to define yourself as a person, not only by your looks but by your personality, by what you want your members to see you like. 

And last but not least there’s the “willingness” category. Here is where you actually realize how you are, and what you like to do, and by this, your members can get to know you for who you really are. If you like stripping or smoking on camera, if you have nice feet, if you’re dominant or submissive, you can try the fetish category. If you’re a good dancer you can be an exotic model, if you’re a bit bossy and you like to dominate and control men then you can be a perfect mistress if you like to dress up, and put on crazy makeup you can be into role-play. 

Being a cam model isn’t just about looks, it’s about your personality. It all depends on you, on how you feel on camera, and on how you want your shows to be. As a cam model you have the opportunity to pick your own persona so just make sure that what category you choose, you actually enjoy doing and it will come naturally. 

Being a model for about 4 years made me discover myself as a woman. I realized that I’m not that into romance and I’m a bit hardcore when it comes to sex, but I did find that talking and getting to know people makes me feel good. 

It’s not just about sexual attraction, it’s about the connection you have with your members, and that defines you and your type. I enjoy bossing around people from time to time and I do get a lot of slaves as members, but I’d rather dance, tease, and make them want me, that’s what I do, and that’s what I like.

I do believe that to become a successful model, you have to love this job. And to love this job you need to be yourself, to do what you like, what makes you happy. The key to actually growing as a cam model is discovering yourself.
