LittleRedBunny Exposed!
A behind-the-scenes look at the Queen of the Camgirls from the one who knows her best.
While LittleRedBunny is arguably one of, if not the most famous cam models within the industry, and she has a well-known brand and is regularly in the media, there is a side of her that many may not see or know about. I have been given the opportunity to honor her 10thyear as a cam model and wanted to paint a portrait of one of the most unique, iconic, respected, and sometimes misunderstood people behind the persona.
I first saw LittleRedBunny online about seven years ago when I was browsing models on Jasmin while a close friend of mine who worked there was in private. My friend would often ask me what other successful models were doing, and as I didn’t really have a strong knowledge of the camming world, I would sometimes look around at how various models performed. I was mostly used to seeing models sitting on a chair or the edge of a little bed looking bored and disinterested, so there often wasn’t much to see. I then clicked on the room of a redhead with an interesting name and my jaw nearly hit the floor. Here was an active model talking, smiling, dancing artistically, and showing her flexibility. I was mesmerized, and quite frankly, impressed. I loved the mood of her room décor and the burlesque, speakeasy vibe as well and especially the music. Now, as then, I’m not one to go into models rooms often, and I rarely ever talk to models if I don’t know them personally. For nearly a year, I would occasionally look in on LittleRedBunny to see what new conversation or move she was doing. Sometimes, just went to be in awe of how she effortlessly slid across her bed while carrying on multiple conversations.
One night, I happened by her room right around the time she was nominated for her first award and she had made a comment about Ray Charles, who is one of my all-time favorite musicians and singers. So I decided to log in to my sole member account and get into the discussion. I was immediately impressed at her music knowledge and personality, and the fact she immediately responded to me and kept me engaged in conversation. The next day I decided to send her an email just to tell her how much I appreciated her style, hard work, and unique esthetic she brought to camming, and how different she and her room were compared to all the others out there. This was truly an honest and professional courtesy I was giving, and I really didn’t expect to ever hear back from her about this email. Much to my surprise, she wrote me back within the day and we’ve never stopped conversing a day since. I never expected she would respond to my humble email. The idea we would become best friends and business partners would have been impossible in my mind. Yet here we are, nearly seven years later still going.
There is a lot to fill in how I started working for her, and eventually with her. How we first met in person. The travels and adventures we’ve shared. But what I think is most important to talk about is not the external things most people have seen, but the person she is that many people don’t get the chance to see.
But before I get into that, there is one personal anecdote I do have to share. When I first met LittleRedBunnyin person in Las Vegas in 2015, I instantly started calling her“Red.” Until then most people called her Ophelia, Bunny, “O” or a few other pet names. Since then, I have noticed most people in the industry now call her Red as well. I’m not fully taking credit for that, but I guess I will take most of it.
Something I quickly learned working with Red is, she is a perfectionist, ambitious, tenacious but cautious, and not one to jump into something without giving it a lot of thought (although sometimes taking too much thought leading to taking too long). I won’t sugar coat how all that can lead to a lot of disagreements and conflicts when working on things with her. In fact, Red can be downright frustrating and stubborn as hell.
It’s not just the redhead in her, she has a vision which has to be a certain way, and I can respect her intent and creativity(It’s also a big reason why she was successful early on before I even started working with her),but she will be the first to admit she doesn’t always share that vision in the clearest of ways for me to understand. One reason for this is because unlike most people, she does not think in linear terms. Her brain is as active as she is when performing on her bed. It’s going all over the place, sliding and hopping from thought to thought, idea to idea, and keeping up with that, trying to interpret those concepts keeps me on my toes, to say the least. It’s a great exercise in mental gymnastics sometimes. Needless to say, things are never dull behind the scenes doing work with her.
Personally, Red is caring, passionate, emotional and empathetic to other’s problems.I have seen her care so strongly for members in her room, many of which she has not even seen their faces, that when someone is dealing with personal or health issues, it affects her whole mood as well as mentally and physically. She gives so much of herself to people that when they are hurting, she is hurting too. It’s a fault and a strength that has endeared her to so many devoted fans. And while many may see her as this perky, upbeat ball of energy, humor, and sexuality, she is fiercely loyal and caring to those around her and can easily be moved to tears over the plight or strong emotions of others.
I experienced this in person on our first work trip to Europe. It was her first time meeting models in person from Romania and other countries. Many approached her with so much adoration, respect, and awe that some would shake or cry when meeting her. I felt like I was escorting Paul McCartney or George Clooney around. She always took it in stride and was happy to hug and take selfies with anyone who asked. But once the event was over, she was so overcome with emotion as she was so surprised and unprepared at how people approached her and acted towards her and adored her that she walked out of the hotel one morning, sat in the sands on the edge of the Mediterranean, and broke into tears. They weren’t exactly tears of sadness, just releasing the strong emotions of all that had happened to her.
It was also the first time I
truly knew that despite her reputation and status many have of her in the camming industry, she is one of the humblest and emotionally honest people you will ever meet.
Through the years as Red went to events winning awards, learning more about the cam industry she began looking to expand her brand and start giving back to the industry, she developed her LittleRedBunny Academy. Officially launched in Colombia in July 2017, she works hard to show her academy is not just something to make her money, but to help provide other models and studios a means to improve their well-being and profits. Within a year of her launching this, I noticed a peculiar thing that brought my attention, even more, to just how much of an icon and influencer Red is in the industry. At events, I started seeing more and more “academies” popping up in the camming landscape from studios to platforms. One of the academies even used the same font we chose for our Academy logo. While imitation is a nice form of flattery, creativity in ideas looks to be sorely lacking from some. But the broader point I’m trying to make is when LittleRedBunny does something, people listen. And copy. And profit.
In the first few years, after I got to know her, several members would point out to models who were influenced and outright imitated many aspects of Red’s camming style. After I started working in the industry and learning more about things, I clearly started seeing how studios and platforms were influenced by Red’s approach to hours online, branding and media interviews among other things. So the list of models, people, and companies she directly affected started to grow. There are quite a few. It’s just a shame that despite her status, her reputation, her accolades, and her knowledge of the industry, many people would rather keep her as an outlier than give her the respect she is due and put her in a position in a company that can make some real change for the better in the industry.
Red has truly been an independent model. Many people seem to think she has special deals or contracts with platforms she works on. She doesn’t. She busts her ass for everything she’s got. She’s earned it with blood, sweat, and tears. She hasn’t been given anything on a platter.
I’m not saying this because I’m her best friend and business, partner. I’m saying this because it’s true. Those who know me know I don’t bullshit. I’m honest and straight forward, and I will tell it like it is. I chose to write this because Red, Ophelia, LittleRedBunny, the Queen of the Camgirls, The Empress of Cams is not some entitled, arrogant, prudish person who thinks she is above everyone else.
She really is just a model like anyone else. The thing that distinguishes her over her last 10 years is she is hard working. She is passionate. She is dedicated. She is creative. She is giving. She is the person you want by your side when things are bad. I want more people to see her as the person she is, not the persona people assume. Because there is already enough phoniness in the world. There are too many users in the world. There are too many uncreative people leeching off the success of others. Red is an innovator, not an imitator. And for 10 years she has given more to this industry than any of you will ever know. She cares about this industry and the people in it. She wants everyone to have the chance to be successful, not just a few. It’s not a job for her, it’s an art form. She paints an amazing picture of what a cam model can be every night she is online, and she wants to help start passing out the brushes and canvases.
And I personally think a lot of people should help her to color this industry as only she can. KanpaiRed! Here’s to 10 more years of success in whatever endeavor you choose!
