Joey – I began my camming career on July 23rd, 2010. Which means I’m coming onto 9 years this year. Almost a decade! Wow, that sounds like a long ago when you say that out loud. Bender – What made you decide to become a live Cam performer? Joey – I had no aspirations to be in the adult industry. I was studying Photography at Parsons. It’s a wonderful university, one of the best for art, but it came with a hefty price. Tuition here was one of the highest of all of the USA. I had some scholarships, but not enough to cover all my costs, and I was not confident about taking out loans like most students were at the time. This was at the time, the worse of the recession, and I knew I had to get creative to figure out how I would be able to pay for my education and graduate without living my entire life a slave to my loans. I was living in NYC, which was a wonderful city that fueled my creativity. However, finding a job here, with millions of other hungry artists and students, was not an easy task. After being rejected for positions I wasn’t passionate about, I felt a sense of defeatism. It was then, my friend suggested I checked out a website called Myfreecams, in which she knew someone who worked there as a model. I come from a very conservative household after all, and I never saw myself as a woman who would be any good at it. But it piqued my curiosity, and with no prior research, I signed up. I don’t think I was serious about it at the time. Yet here I am nearly 9 years later! Bender- Can you tell us how your family and friends felt about your decision to become a live webcam performer? Joey – My family as I mentioned is very conservative and had big plans for me to succeed in law or medicine. However, when I chose art school, I had already broken that dream they had for me. So, in many ways, it almost prepared them to just accept me as I am. I’d always been the more rebellious child amongst my siblings. I got in quite a lot of trouble growing up. So, like everything else I’ve done that went against my family’s wishes, I did it without their knowledge or consent. As an art student, I shot landscapes until I became a camgirl. It was then, I turned my camera onto myself and began shooting nude self-portraiture. I did show these photographs to my mother. I also began dancing in burlesque clubs, in which she’s attended and watched me strip down to nothing. I think as a woman, she understood my work and saw the empowerment I felt creating art and expressing myself through my body. Because cam was just another art medium for me, like dance, and like photography, I think it made it easier for her to accept that too. At this point, I think my family recognizes that I am an adult now, and I think they see me living out my dreams, traveling the world, creating and sharing my art, and while my father may wish I was doing other things, they both accept me fully. They know after having me for so many years, that telling me what to do had never worked out anyhow. Bender – Is there anyone special in your life? Joey – Of course! Well… admittedly, I didn’t have many, if any friends, before camming. Even in university, I didn’t try to make any friends. It’s crazy, right? I used to be reserved. A loner. I think in many ways it helped fuel my creativity, and I enjoyed being in my thoughts. I did everything on my own. I think it’s also why I began to become so drawn to live streaming. It helped me come out of my shell, a bit. The people who visit me on cam, these are real people I’ve known and who’s known me for years. Many of them watched me graduate. I live-streamed it so that they can attend. While many might refer to them as fans, they are some of my best friends to me. Right now, all the special people in my life are all people I’ve come to know through live streaming. My best friends are my soul sisters, and they are all camgirls! I’ve met everyone in different parts of the world while traveling. When I was in Thailand, I met a production team that shot for some of the leading companies in adult and had the amazing opportunity to work with them. The producer Paul Hamilton brought me under his wing as a camerawoman and a director. I learned so much about professional film making from them, which I’ve brought into my work. They became almost like a porn family to me and we are very close. And while I am still shy, this industry has helped me come a long way. I am so grateful for the people who’s entered my life. It’s crazy to think that I wouldn’t have met any of these amazing souls if I hadn’t become a camgirl. This industry is a community of like-minded and amazing people. Bender- Can you tell us what you did before becoming a live webcam performer? Joey – I was your typical “starving artist”. I shot self-portraiture and showed my work in art galleries around NYC. Bender Cain Interviews Joey Kim

CamLife Magazines President and CEO Bender Cain  Interviews Photographer and MyFree Cams live cam model Joey Kim.  Joey Kim was also featured in our list of 25 Cam models that are in a League of Their Own.

Bender – So Joey how long have you been Camming?

I always had big ideas and wanted to create art that started a dialogue about sexuality, and the naked body. I think these are topics that people were afraid to speak about. I think webcam performing helped fueled that part of me and complimented what I was already doing.

Bender- What do you like most about being in life webcam performer? Joey – This is a hard question. Mostly because I wouldn’t be who I am today, if not for camming. I’ve made some big achievements throughout my journey. I’m completely independent. I work for myself. I get to call the shots. And I get to work from anywhere. This has enabled me to begin traveling the world nomadically. I decided, “Why to limit myself to the same four walls?” So, I said “fuck, it”, and I packed my bags, left for Asia, and from there, I didn’t come back home. Now I live out of my suitcase 11 months a year seeking out beautiful places I feel pulled towards, and I go there to capture it and create beautiful performances, scenes, and live streams. (Hah I kind of like how that rhymed) If you were to tell me 10 years ago that this is what I would be doing, I’d think you were lying.

Bender- What do you like the least about being a live webcam performer? Joey – When I’m in Europe, I must wake up at like 3 am to get ready to begin streaming to catch the sunrise for my mainly US viewers! I am not an early bird, and it takes a lot of will power. But I am very critical about giving my viewers a visually captivating experience. So, when I’m in Europe, I always want them to get the chance to watch the show go from dark to sunrise.

Bender- What would you say a typical day. For you is like on cam? Joey – Cam is very unpredictable. The day usually unfolds differently depending on who is in the room and what is happening. For instance, the shows, stripteases, dances, and even more erotic shows are completely crowd fulfilled by tips and completing goals. The more goals we complete the more erotic the shows become! I am always trying to find creative ways to change up the shows every time I stream. I travel often, so with traveling, you will always find me in a different location every time you tune in. Most days, you will be able to see a stunning sunrise, and we try to complete our goals right as the sun comes up, so that everyone can enjoy a beautiful performance in front of the rising sun.

Bender- How do you spend your days when you’re not on cam how do you relax and unwind? Joey – Sometimes I feel like I am never really on a break-even when I am not online. My entire life has become my work and live streaming. When I am not on cam, I am shooting videos, and photo sets, or editing videos for my site, joeykim.tv

I enjoy yoga and dance. It’s wonderful because I learn how to move in ways that are beautiful to watch, and I find that this not just helps me relax, but also helps me condition my body for when I am on cam or shooting. I guess I don’t ever really relax. But I love what I do, so I guess it’s not working I mind doing. It’s become my everyday life.

Bender- Now Joey you are a true pioneer in the live webcam community the content you create has evolved well beyond just something sexual into something that can only be described as a cross between sensual burlesque and Circus Soleil how did this Evolution happen? Ha-ha Wow, a true pioneer? Can I get a recording of you saying that so I can save it as my ringtone?

All jokes aside, thank you very much for your kind words. It’s nearly impossible not to let your real-life personality bleed into camming. I only began to dance professionally after camming. Camming built up the confidence I needed to start dancing. I became so passionate about it, it was all I thought about, it was all I wanted to do. Camming gave me my very own stage to express myself. And just like everything else that I loved doing, photography, video, and performance, it all bled into my work as a cam artist. To me, it’s all the same thing in different but very similar mediums.

Bender – So, Joey can you tell us how you incorporated your aerial skills into your life cam performances? Joey – I had always been creative in my live streaming shows. With overlays, with shadows, and various lighting effects. So, in a sense, I’d always been very performative during my shows. I found aerial dance to be very erotic, so as I began practicing, I created an aerial striptease performance act for my live cam show. The funny back story about this aerial act… A producer caught on to it when he saw my performance on YouTube and signed me as a dancer. The video was a recording of my live cam show. I never thought that I would now be touring, performing the act all over the world.

Bender- Joey you are a self-described Globetrotter a real travel Junkie you have performed on cam and some of the most amazing places around the world shooting underwater what would you say your most difficult Livestream on cam has been as a performance artist? Joey – You named it! My most difficult live stream was figuring out a way to live stream underwater. I always have these visions for shows, and I can never take no for an answer. So, I had this idea to do a while striptease and live-streamed show underwater. My very first version of this was trying to stick a webcam in an underwater casing. Let just say, I broke a lot of webcams before I came to the solution I have now. But it was worth it because it’s probably one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring live performances I’ve created and I’m very proud of it.

Bender- What would you say your favorite city or country that you have visited in your travels? Joey – This is a tough one… Every city has left me with so many stories and shaped me in a big way. But I would say that Thailand has a special spot in my heart. It is where I performed my first international performance at a festival at sunrise. I can never forget that moment. It was so awe-inspiring. I had a moment where I realized I was living a dream. That I was free. And I’ve never let that feeling leave me.

Bender – You have a Penthouse Magazine twice addition to being covered in Huffington Post, AVN, XBIZ, TimeOut NY and Now CamLife Magazine what is it like to be recognized for your work as a live webcam performer? Joey – It’s a dream come true! A lot of times people view camming as the amateur side of the business. But I never accepted that title for myself. I don’t strive for recognition. I just want to create something extraordinary. I want to constantly be improving and I want to share something unique. I guess people began to take notice and I’m grateful for that. It makes me feel like I am going on the right path. But really, I just put my heart and soul into my work, and I enjoy my craft.

Bender – We hear at CamLife believe the live webcam industry is more than a billion-dollar business it is a community of performers and entrepreneurs that truly want to help each other succeed not just financially putting life in general what are your thoughts on this? Joey – I find it so inspiring when women support and lift each other. As adult industry performers and entrepreneurs, we already face so many obstacles as a highly stigmatized group. Stealing, slander, and trying to bring each other down, is something we already have to deal with as adult industry performers, we really shouldn’t do this to each other. Sometimes it feels like we have the whole world trying to bring us down, and it’s counterproductive to bring each other down. With camming, it’s easy to feel isolated and alone. Granted, once you log off cam, you are physically alone, and drained. By drawing on support from one another, not just can we relate with one another better than anyone else, we can motivate one another, and propel each other forward further, instead of holding each other back. This is a highly competitive industry, but even competition can be friendly, and positive. I think it can be seen as a healthy way to motivate one another, and I do encourage all of us to do this.

Bender – Now Joey I know that you come from a conservative Asian upbringing, so my question is how has being a part of the live webcam community and being a performer helps you build confidence and helped you grow as your person? In my early years as a camgirl, I was one of the only non-nude models on MFC. It was what I was comfortable with at the time. Perhaps this made me a target for cyberbullying. Things got bad, and I fell into a deep depression. It was probably at the point of my lowest, where I had to let go of everything, I once believed in to reconstruct my confidence. I figured, if I no longer felt the shame, I felt from being a “slut”, this offensive language can no longer hurt me. In a sense, I had to leave behind everything I was raised to believe, and take ownership of my body, be proud of who I am, to regain my confidence.

Bender – What are your goals as a live webcam performer? Joey – I want to push the boundaries of live streaming, building the most innovative live streaming room. Constantly reinventing myself as a performer and entrepreneur. I want to travel the world and creating work to share the beauty of the world and sexuality.

Bender – What are your goals outside of the live webcam community? Joey – A lot of adult performers are in the industry to fulfill some other passion that they have. But that has never been me. Even in my passion to travel, I do it intending to stream in a beautiful place and create work I can share with others. Every goal I have is only to better myself as a performer, producer, and artist. And to better my industry in live streaming by constantly pushing the boundaries. Right now, I am deep in web designing and programming with my team to build the world’s most innovative and interactive live streaming site. And because it is built by my friends from live streaming, it is built behind the lens of a cam consumer, making user experience and interactivity our main focus.

Bender – Joey one of the things that impressed me the most is the Artistry that you bring to the live webcam community and its audience it is very refreshing myself being a huge fan of burlesque but I also equally impressed with the video and production quality of your work how do you put it all together? Joey – I am a one-woman band! It didn’t happen overnight. With my long experience in art and photography, dance, and porn production, camming is very much the marriage of all this knowledge put together. It’s taken me many years of research, trial and error, and experience within the industry that has got me to this point. I see my progression every year. If I didn’t, I’d probably feel like I am doing something wrong. I have this unquenchable curiosity, and it’s constantly pushing me to try new things.

Bender – Joey we also know that you’re have been involved in some charities can you tell us a little bit about your charity work? Joey – I don’t consider it “my” charity work. I always saw it as all my friends, the Family’s charity work, as none of it would be possible if not for the immense support and love within my community. People don’t realize that porn consumers can have some of the biggest hearts. For us, our fundraising nights not only benefit the charities, but it is deeply rewarding for us too. I feel deeply about several things that have affected my life, and the people I love and it’s deeply gratifying to know that my work enables me the ability to bring everyone together to do something empowering for all of us.

Bender – Obviously your work has evolved tremendously as a live cam performer and you seem to have your hand on the pulse of something unique so where you see the live webcam industry in the next 5 years? Joey – Live streaming is rapidly growing in popularity as it becomes increasingly more mainstream. I think this trend will continue and the industry will become more competitive. But I think this is a good thing. Along with living streaming, and camera technology becoming more advanced, it will challenge the industry as a whole, to start becoming more progressive.

Bender – What are your thoughts on VR? Joey – Camming had always been about sensory feedback. I pay very close attention to the quality of the auditory and visual experience I create. I believe VR will enable a whole new experience allowing the consumer to become even more immersed in the experience. If camming is about bringing your audience closer to the experience, VR technology is the future in enabling the viewer the ability to be physically within the environment, creating an even more immersive experience. I recently partnered up with Terpon to work on making high-quality VR accessible to the everyday live cam consumer. If you have yet to experience VR in high quality, it’s hard to express the immersion you can experience. Couple that with real-time live streaming technology, and you begin to imagine VR almost like a teleportation device, enabling viewers to enter my room physically.

Bender – How do you feel about new sex tech such as teledildonics? Joey – I believe that we truly crave an interactive experience. It is why live streaming is as big as it is. I think that is it that pushes the technology industry to come up with solutions to enable us to connect at a deeper level. Teledildonics connects with a sensory level of touch we had not to have before in live streaming, and I’m very curious to begin experimenting with it.

Bender – Would you say you’re a cat or a dog person? Joey – Despite growing up with dogs, I consider myself a lover of all living things. I am vegetarian, and it was a personal choice I made to decrease my environmental footprint, and because of my love of animals. Not many know this about me, as I find it makes people uncomfortable when I speak about it. I make friends with all kinds of animals when I travel! Cats, dogs, ducks, cows, goats, etc. I have a deep love for these pure creatures.

Bender – Do you have a favorite flavor of ice cream? Joey – I love raspberry sorbet and anything fruity!

Bender – If you had to spend a week alone on a desert island what three things would you bring with you? Joey – Is there WIFI in a said island? This is a very important factor because if so, I will need my laptop, a camera, and nice strong light.

Bender – What’s the craziest request you’ve ever gotten from a fan while on cam? Joey – There was once a guy who was very particular about rubbing soap on my body. It had to be specifically the DIAL brand.

Bender – Do you have any kind of set schedule for camming? Joey – I stream once a week, and typically on the weekends, but it does fluctuate if I am sick, traveling that day, or just needed some time for myself. It’s nice to have that kind of freedom.

Bender – Now Joey you are a very beautiful woman so how do you stay in such amazing shape besides your aerial and acrobatic routine? Joey – Oh, I’m blushing, thank you! I joke in my room that my work out routine is chasing my gate at the airport!

Otherwise, I like to dance and do yoga regularly. I am beginning a new safe for work yoga channel to share my journey with everyone! Perhaps you can join me, and you too will have a sexy Joey body. ha-ha

Bender – What advice would you give to someone new to the life webcam industry as a performer? Joey – There are tons of cam performers out there, and no one can guarantee that you’ll make a name for yourself. The truth is that it takes a lot of hard work and luck to climb up the ladder. You must come into this work with a love for it. Trying to get quick fame, or money will leave you disappointed

Secondly, allowing yourself to be vulnerable will bring with it, a slew of ignorance, and insecurity, and you must approach it with strength and confidence. You will get this from everyone-not only random strangers from the internet but from acquaintances, and relatives. The family will find out eventually. Be prepared for it. You may be outed, and you may have to endure criticism, and even get insulted, but always face it with grace and confidence. Protect yourself. Protect your safety, and value your privacy. No one is more important than your safety.

Lastly, be honest and real with yourself. Don’t just fall into being or doing something that you think will make you more successful or make you more popular. You must set your boundaries and stand your ground. Everyone will try to shape you to their ideal person, but you must be your ideal person, and let those who will come to love you, find you.

Bender – Joey I know that most of the fans in the live webcam industry are great and it is wonderful in your action but not always how do you deal with rude fans are cyberbullies? Joey – I love how you call them rude “fans” because it does take a strange obsession to find a thrill in bringing someone down. I never actually understood that mindset. I always remind myself that this person is hurting, and I sympathize with them. I don’t take it personally as I don’t know what’s happening in their personal life. I know that as a camgirl, people will constantly be unloading their stress in various ways, and I’ve learned to accept that and let it go. However, when it becomes malicious, for example, real-life stalking, or endangerment to my safety and privacy, I contact the authorities, I try to file a statement so that I know it’s there, and I keep my close friends close to me. It’s important to keep those you love close to you at times when you might be feeling vulnerable or afraid. Let them know what’s going on. Allow more love in your life to counteract any negativity that might come your way.

Bender – You have a massive Twitter following you’ve been featured in AVN penthouse on two separate occasions and many other Publications including CamLife now so so exactly do you handle all the day-to-day requests from media from fans Forum events etcetera? Joey – I am very particular about the brands I associate myself with, as I’ve learned from my years in this industry that not everyone has our best interest. I’ve declined many mainstream offers after doing my research, to protect myself and my brand. However, I am always open to collaborating with brands who I believe in, and who believe in me. I love my industry and I am so proud of my craft, so I am always happy to be highlighted in mainstream and adult industry publications.

Bender – How important would you say it is for live cam performer to generate multiple streams of income? Joey – It’s important to put your work out where new people might be able to find you. I always find platforms as a great opportunity to show your work to a new audience. If you can generate more income on a particular platform, I think it’s good to focus on that. It’s also important to allow yourself to generate a flow of income offline, either from video sales, or snap chat, etc. so you are not reliant only on camming, and you can allow yourself days to rest.

Bender – What award shows our industry expose and trade shows will you be attending this year? Joey – I typically attend shows where I am invited to speak or if I am a nominee. I try to support the shows who support my work. This year I attended the XBIZ show as a speaker, and the AVN Show as I was a nominee for Favorite Cam Girl. I recently attended The European Summit, and the Live Cam Awards, where I came home with an award for Most Innovative Cam Artist!

Bender – Being a live webcam performer has a lot to offer such as Financial Security, freedom to travel, and lots of other perks but it does not come easy it is a lot of hard work can you describe some of the obstacles you’ve had to go overcome to get where you’re at today? Joey – A lot of my friends from camming has seen me go through a lot. I was cyberbullied heavily in my early camming years. At the time, I was not prepared for such hateful energy directed at me. I was physically stalked, got sent threats to my phone number and I even had hateful things graffiti on walls by my house. Along with this, police, and other authorities, I contacted did not take me seriously because I had admitted to being a camgirl. They would say things like “Well, look at what you do for a living.” and “What did you expect?” It was at a time I feared for my life, and I felt I had no one to turn to.

The biggest obstacle I’ve faced with camming thus far has been facing the stigma that comes with my work, first hand. I felt so alone, in an already isolating industry. But I am proud to say that I’ve come out of this with so much resilience, and all of this has made me a much stronger woman today.

Bender – Can you tell us a little bit about your website? Joey – JoeyKim.tv came about when I began to grow as a live streamer and artist, and I felt the platforms I was on, was not growing with me. So, I took it into my own hands to build my platform. I stream in full 1080p, or 4k depending on the user’s internet speed. Joeykim.tv is built completely by JKTV fans, for JKTV fans! I think this is truly what makes it so unique. It is built from the ground up with love, from cam lovers, for cam lovers. No one can truly understand what they want more from a cam site than the cam consumer themselves, and I’ve learned that my audience is full of incredibly tech-savvy, and intelligent people, who were more than happy to be a part of this project. And there is no one else I’d rather have to build our home together. It’s a live streaming website that takes advantage of all the most innovative technologies. We are currently revamping the website completely to build the most innovative live streaming site, enabling the audience with more interactive capabilities to affect the show. JoeyKim.tv is the result of all our blood sweat and tears. All my videos are there allowing my audience a place to come and enjoy all of it for the lowest price possible. It’s truly a place where I consider our home on the internet.

Bender – Now you have even work in the production side of the adult film industry can you tell us a little bit about that? Joey – I learned so much from producing films for other companies. Allowing myself to be behind the camera allowed me to learn how to improve my work from the backend. Porn production is an art and I am so grateful that my porn family brought me under their wing and believed in my vision because it’s helped me grow so much in my work. Producing a scene is about telling erotic stories through imagery and creating a masterpiece. A lot of people imagine working in porn is a dream job, but all that glitters is not gold, and many things are not how itis imagined by outsiders. Many of the biggest porn companies give producers a very low budget, resulting in underpaid talent, and production teams, for very hard labor. Pun intended!

Bender – How would you describe one of your life cam performances? Joey – Maybe better to ask someone from my cam room! I see them as a visual and audio interactive experience, of my self-expression in real-time.

Bender – Joey you have found your niche in the live webcam Community how important would you say it is for other live cam performers to set themselves apart and find their niche? Joey – It is so important to find what is unique about you, your personality, or your gifts and passions, and allow that to drive your brand. While cam artists may be influenced by other cam artists, and this may be apparent in their work this is not the same as simply copying. Copying is not creativity or inspiration. Copying is stealing one’s art. I found that not allowing yourself to steal one’s work means you must get creative to create something fresh. I truly consider camming an art medium, and you are not allowed to just repeat what someone else has come up with. This has no value and does not promote individuality and originality, which is the very essence of what sets you apart, in an oversaturated industry.

Bender – Now in addition to performing live on webcam you have off so performed live in front of a crowd can you tell us a little bit about this experience? Joey – While I still feel stage fright, similarly to how I feel right before I click the live stream button, I found it has brought me so much confidence as a performer. There is no greater feeling than hearing the audience gasp, when I do a scary trick, or clap and cheer at the end of my performance. I always related this to camming. It’s very similar to the feeling I get when I get tipped in my room!

Bender – Now, of course, the name of our magazine is cam life so how would you say life is a live webcam performer please change the way you see the world? Joey – I have learned to become a lot more open-minded. Not just about sexuality, but about everyone’s beliefs. I realized that sometimes I am not right about everything. I’ve also become a lot more sympathetic. I see everyone even behind their font and text, as human beings full of stories and emotions. I am curious about their desires, and interests, and who they are as a person. And I realize that everyone is just normal human beings like the rest of us.

Bender – As I said you have a massive Twitter and social media following what other social media do you use how can our readers keep up with you and your career? Joey – I try my best to stay in touch with everyone I hold close to my heart. Now that I’ve been camming for 8 years, I’ve built a lot of friendships and I try my best to let them know I appreciate them. Twitter and all my other social media platforms is a way for me to stay in touch with everyone. I do try my best and take time every day to respond to every message I receive.

Bender – Thank you once again, Joey, for taking the time out of your very busy schedule to sit down with us and our readers we wish you all the best. Joey – Thank you so much for having me. It is such an incredible honor to be able to sit down and speak with you. Thank you for allowing me to share my voice.

Cam Life’s Bender Cain Interviews Cam supper couple JackplusJill https://camlifemag.com/cam-lifes-bender-cain-interviews-cam-supper-couple-jackplusjill/ Sat, 29 Jun 2019 21:24:02 +0000 http://camlifemag.com/?p=2910 [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”2912″ img_size=”full”][vc_custom_heading source=”post_title” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center”][vc_column_text]  Here at Cam Life Magazine, we have interviewed some of the biggest performers in the live webcam community from independent to studio models. So we continue to grow and break new ground we sat down with Jack + Jill one of the hottest couples in the live webcam industry. Before we start I want to thank you both for taking the time out of your busy schedules to sit down with us here at Cam Life Magazine to answer some questions for our readers. Our pleasure! So let’s start at the beginning how did you two meet?  We both met in the apartment complex we used to live at. I had to ask Jack if he wanted to get to know each other because he didn’t have the balls to ask me out. What made you two decide to enter the live webcam industry? Pretty simple, like most people –it was money. I had just finished my Master’s degree. I was at a point in my life where I had fully realized how long it would take me to pay off my student loans. Jack wasjust willing to go along for the ride. How did your family and friends feel about your decision to enter the live webcam industry? We’re safe and responsible, so we really don’t feel like what we do is a really big deal. We also understand some people may not agree with the lifestyle we have chosen. For that reason, most of the people in our life are on a need-to-know basis. We tend to avoid oversharing and if we do share what we do, which we frequentlydo, we describe it in general terms. So, it means you have a double life, you are both successful in your day job and in your camming business.  Yeah, I guess you could say we have a double life. Our day jobs represent a much larger portion of our personal identities and they are very distinct from our camming lifestyle. As a couple you have become two of the most successful performers in the live webcam community. What would you say the key to your success as performers has been?   Being consistent, answering every e-mail, being friendly to everyone, and minding our own business. A lot of people have a tendency to get wrapped up in the social order of the camming community, farming followers, use it as a platform to judge others, and overshare their opinions. We just like to mind our own business and put our energy into putting on good concise shows. We understand a lot of people have limited time in their schedule and want to have some genuine social interactions combined with sex. We try to deliver that in a three hour window. In your opinion, what is the main difference between performing couple-shows and solo-shows? Did you try both?  Being a solo cam model is more competitive. When you’re a solo performer the burden of running the technical aspects of your show along with social engagement all fall to oneperson. When you’re a couple, you can split these responsibilities up. Depending on the type of person you are, this can make things more or less difficult. Some people don’t like to relinquishcontrol to their partners or don’t agree with their creative direction. This tricky dynamic is what makes a long-term couples more rare than successful solo models. Both of us do solo shows, but Jack does far fewer. The couples section is getting more and more popular over platforms that offer it. How do explain that? What’s the difference between the 3 types we have identified: like you couples that are talkative and very interactive with their audience, couples-groups who are just performing sexual performances according to the tip menu, and couples-group who pretend to be acting like being spied with neighbors, cousins, the plumber, etc.? I think live camming is just getting more popular in general. I think some people just genuinely crave social interactions, so they run their shows in a way to get it. For us, this is all about seducing your viewers socially, intellectually, and of course –sexually into joining your show. People who purely perform on a tip menu generally have a hard time communicating with the primary English-speaking demographic, they are attractive and lazy, don’t feel like talking, or just don’t knowany better. Some performers fetishize real-life scenarios with service workers, friends, or even “family members”. Some viewers have such a strong desire to live out these fantasies that they are able to convince themselves they are real. Is it because of your social media activities, your personal sitehttp://camming.co/, the impressive 300,000+ fans on Chaturbate, or your organization and precise schedule, or simply a combination of everything?   Well it’s definitelynot because of our social media presence. Our pleasure!

So let’s start at the beginning how did you two meet?

We both met in the apartment complex we used to live at. I had to ask Jack if he wanted to get to know each other because he didn’t have the balls to ask me out.

If your room is boring, people won’t choose to spend their time there –pretty simple. Our schedule is what it is because we don’t have any other times in our life that we can dedicate to live streaming. We both work and cam.

We also saw that you are giving a lot of advice to your viewers… Does one of you have a background in sexology?

Jill is a type of therapistand is very skilled at listening and interpreting people’s body language and feelings. Jack is obsessed with data and loves trying out things that he thinks will help seduce others or heighten their experiences. We like to think these personality characteristics combined with our robust experiencegives us unique insight into people’s sexuality. We don’t just talk about it, we read about it and have an entire reading list! We have researchedwhat scents, textures, foods, sensations, and experiencescontribute to arousal. Finally, we try them out on our willing participants. We make note of what works for different types of people. Sexology is exciting because we feel like it is both an art and a scienceand since everyone is different, it means you can never truly “know it all”. That makes the field very exciting to work in.

Amazing! And about you Jack, it sounds you’re the techy-guy in the couple. We see the green screen and many over things that you like to test as for example you have talked a few times about VR? Are you an engineer?

I’m a scientist. While my field didn’t prepare me for the technical aspects of live streaming that say being an electrical engineer or software engineer would have, I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and dabble in all sorts of fields. In the last year I’ve become fascinated with virtual reality and augmented reality, and the immersive experiencesit provides people. I built a high-end computer capable of renderingVR and for a few months, I just played some games and really understood how users interact with the interface and other people in VR. I have begun working with Terpon (https://terpon.com/) to expand the immersive experiencesVR can provide into the realm of live streaming, sexuality, and even haptics. I’m particularly excited about this because I think it’s an opportunity for us to combine several disciplines into a new type of experience. We’ve begun a series of “beta streams” onwww.xvr.chatusing our Hermes camera provided by Terpon. We call them beta streams because the technology and delivery methods are still in flux as technology improves and we learnto deliver the best experiencepossible

We see that many promising performers or some well-known ones are doing group shows with you. We even learn you go through very serious interviews…

We have collaborated with several other well-kno

wn performers, people just starting out, and people who have never done any live-camming before in their life. Variety is the spice of life! We love breaking down walls, asking people about their experiences, and how they got to where they are now. When you watch traditional porn, you never get to understand how the performers really feel. That’s what we want to give our viewers.

Now I understand that you are both also being featured in xbiz magazine as well?

We think so! Pornhub.com contacted us about featuringour profilehttps://www.pornhub.com/model/jackplusjillas one of the “fastest growing profiles year over year in terms of video sales” on the site. This is probably because we joined pornhub really late and when we finally did, we had a video featured and experinced a lot of video sales. The total number of subscribers we have is still rather low compared to well-known people in the community, but that’s probably because we don’t like posting full-feature videos for free. We’re not that “out” and don’t want millions of people seeing our faces. We’re content with our double life and selling videos.

Will, you a day become gurus, or will you start an academy like several models are doing now? How do you see your future?

I think true gurus don’t need to label themselves as one. True knowledge comes with research and life experience and we have really put in our work in those two areas. People already watch our shows and emulate what we do. When we werestarting out and finding our way, we watched others and emulated the aspects of their shows we enjoyed most. Its all circular and nobody is really re-inventing the wheel here; it’s largely a process of self exploration through others. We’ll go where our viewers take us because at the end of the day –we’re here to please them.

What do you see as the next steps for the industry in general?

I think we’re going to see an explosion in the number of people that are pursuing live-camming. I think it’s going to reach over-saturationin the next global recession. I think technology is going to play an increasing role in our sexual experiencesthat may even transcend arousal from other humans into the realm of computer-generated imagery. This is already happening, but as animations become more and more life-like, soon it’ll be hard to discern between an AI controlled rendering of what you define as ideal beauty and the real thing.

We here at Cam Life Magazine fell that the live webcam industry is more than just a multi-billion dollar industry its a community of performers and entrepreneurs that truly want each other to do well in this business what are your thoughts on this?

It’s hard not to agree with that. Live streaming is a platform to advertise just about anything you want about yourself. I think everyone is just trying to make it in the world and find their Ikigai. I found mine when I was working on my aquaponics projects on cam and people were encouraging me to pursue my dreams. One day I’ll have my aquaponicsfacility and live stream from there. Live streaming becomes a part of you. If you turn your back on it, it’s like giving up an opportunity and something you’ve worked so hard to develop.
How has performing as a couple helped strengthen your relationship?

While there have been some ups and downs as a result of camming, especially when you add in other people, It has definitelystrengthened our relationshipin the long run. I think we’ve really learned a lot about each other in the processand we’re extremely happy with where our relationship is today.

How do you deal with cyberbullies?

By ignoring them. Cyberbullies get off to your response and they want to see you squirm. If you ignore them, eventually they’ll get bored with you. Cyberbullies used to get to us –but at this point in our career, I don’tthink there is much you could say to us that would make us upset. We think the negativityother exude is just a reflection of their true character, so when they run their mouth –they’re just exposing themselves as the nasty people they are.

Last word: any advice for performers who will try to perform as couples or newcomers? Jill? Jack?

Success does not happen overnight. Don’t become complacent and if you think you’re the best –you’re not. Stay humble, know who pays your bills and makes your lifestyle possible; go out of your way to please those people. Build a support system, sometimes you have to get rid of the wrong friends to find the right ones. Stop overthinking and doubting yourself. Work hard and allow yourself to celebrate small victories. Set realistic goals and treat yourfailures as learning opportunities. Talk to people -don’t talk about money.

Plan in advance and don’t take the decision to cam lightly –it’ll be one that stays with you.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_widget_sidebar sidebar_id=”sidebar”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Influencer Marketing in the live Cam community

In this issue of Cam Life Magazine, we have taken a look at some of the live webcam community’s biggest influencers from cam models to industry insiders. Now We will be taking a look at what exactly Influencer Marketing is and how some of the top companies in the live webcam industry use it.

So What is Influencer Marketing?

To keep it simple, Influencer Marketing is kind of a hybrid of old and new marketing tools, taking the idea of the celebrity endorsement and placing it into a modern-day content-driven marketing campaign. The main difference is that the results of the campaign are usually collaborations between brands and influencers.

It’s easy to imagine a celebrity teaming with a company to pitch a product—even if the pitch is a series of 10-minute videos instead of a 30-second television ad. Past winners include LCA 2017 – Sophie Muse, LalExpo 2017 – Selena Bella, Bucharest summit Awards 2017 – Roxxy, LalExpo 2018-Anastasia Lynn, LCA 2018 Studio 20, Bucharest Summit Awards 2018 – TipTop StudiosAwAwards 2018 – Alice Langlois – LittleRedBunny Now let’s take a look at another company that is using influencers from the live webcam community in a very successful way.

Terpon VR is a great example of how to use live Cammodels in a successful campaign. Terpon is working with the innovative Joey Kim a pioneer in the live webcam industry as a performer. The tech company is also working with cam couple jackplusjill. I recently had the time to chat with Valerie Artonne about influencer marketing and this is what she had to say.

‘Many startups approach influencer marketing too academically. They try to apply what big corporations are doing, and they fail. Selecting influencers who have the most followers spread their message as quickly as possible is a common mistake and leads only to a higher cost and a lack of agility most of the time. Moreover, when you stop partnering with these super-influencers, or if they just lose interest, you can become exposed to very negative outcomes. I strongly believe you should qualify each influencer first on their authenticity. I mean on their real motivation, besides being paid, to participate and positively affect the adoption curve, as well as their knowledge of your product so they can generate real credibility. Qualifying their impact on their direct surrounding sphere of influence is what will move them up from passionate people to the true influencer’s category you seek. That’s a perfect start for your marketing and communication testing. Of course, your final goal is to find among them the ones who are leading an entourage of influencers to ultimately address the masses and help build your brand. As the last point, you want influencers who are perceived as innovative people, not because they claim it, but because they have that precious instinct to anticipate the future and what people need. If you do not find this characteristic in a potential influencer, you will end up having a deal with them as more of your new follower who has a lot of followers, rather than the trendsetter you wanted.

Interview with Maurice Op de Beek, KIIROO’s Chief Technology Officer.  Amsterdam-based KIIROO is an award-winning sex tech company that has been a leader in the teledildonics (internet connected sex toys) industry since 2014. Working at the intersection of technology and human interest, KIIROO developed a unique technology that enables users to be intimate from a distance. We spend our days pushing the boundaries of sex and technology, striving to be the leaders in all things that we do.  Today, we would like to introduce Maurice Op de Beek, KIIROO’s CTO. Maurice is responsible for technology and product development for all KIIROO devices and applications. He is also the person who created the first prototypes for KIIROO’s line of interactive sex toys back in 2013/2014  Bender – Please tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got into the adult industry?  Maurice – I was a derivatives trader for 14 years until 2012 when I decided to do something else. I didn’t like trading anymore, it was a very stressful career. 3D printing was going strong in 2012 and it was really on the rise at the time. So I made the switch and followed MIT’s prototyping course at the FAC Academy in 2013 and after a year, I knew how to make working prototypes for various products.  I was approached by a man named Reno Voet, who was a creative genius. He asked me if I could help him make the first prototype of his ideas. His idea was to add touch to the internet and make it possible for couples that live far apart to feel as if they are close together.  It took us another 6 months before we had our first working prototype for the first KIIROO products. We opted for crowdfunding and went live on Indiegogo in January 2014. We received a huge amount of media attention and public awareness; it was a great success. KIIROO started off a couple of toys, but soon we were approached by different companies in the industry, like webcam, video, and VR, wanting to make their content interactive. By interactive, we mean that KIIROO devices respond to the movements you see on screen, making your masturbatory experience truly immersive.   We released our first commercial product one year later in March 2015. By then we had a fully working app, a couple of hundred videos encoded to be interactive and were looking at making the interactive VR experience, which proved to be our biggest success. KIIROO partnered with some amazing companies like Flirt4free, VirtualRealPorn and Badoink that helped us get the first interactive content online.   At the same time, in 2015 we partnered with Fleshlight. They worked with us to make the sleeve that goes inside the Onyx and later in 2017 we would make their Fleshlight’s interactive. During 2016, we worked hard on FeelMe.com which is our marketplace for interactive content, that we released in 2017 together with the release of the Fleshlight Launch.  Bender –  Can you tell us a bit about your products?”  Maurice –  All KIIROO toys are interactive, which means that they can be controlled by someone else, through an app or by interactive content. We have three products suited for penis’s of a variety of sizes; Onyx2, Launch, and Titan. These three products have their own unique experience. Onyx2 squeezes and strokes the penis using 10 contracting rings. The Launch is a stroker; it goes up and down and different lengths and strokes. And, the Titan creates a pleasurable feeling by controlling multiple vibration motors simultaneously while the user strokes at their own pace. We then have 4 vibrators; Pearl2, Fuse, and Esca (Esca2 will be released in February 2019) and Cliona. The Pearl2 is an interactive vibrator, which can sense speed and depth in movement, which can be translated to another KIIROO device. Together with OhMiBod, we created Fuse and Esca that are very stylish products. Both are meant for the webcam industry as they are equipped with one or more LED lights. Cliona is our latest release (8th January 2018) it is a clit-stimulating vibrator, that is compact and of course, interactive. Bender – What webcam sites is your technology and products currently implemented on?   Maurice – We work with the several big webcam sites such as Flirt4Free, Cam4, Xcams, SkyPrivate, Streamate, ImLive and Twero. We have more sites in the pipelines that we hope to integrate our technology soon too. Flirt4free was our earliest supporter and is one of the webcam companies that wholly believe in interactivity. They have integrated tipping(1-way interactive) and 2-way interactive, meaning that for performers using KIIROO devices, they can control customers’ KIIROO devices in private sessions.  We hope to integrate with more powerhouses in the webcam industry this year. We believe that technology can be applied to various sites, adult and non-adult. We want to add touch and intimacy to content to make our experiences online more rich and intimate.  Bender – KIIROO is constantly coming out with new, innovative solutions in the webcam industry. What inspires you to create the technology that you do?”  Maurice – We are on a mission to make the internet a more intimate place, bringing together people that are separated over distances, letting people feel new and exciting interactive experiences. Our aim is to make these experiences as realistic as possible, and as a result, we are constantly looking for motor technologies to enable more subtle movements, and to bring movements and visuals more in sync, making these e experiences more visual and immersive.  Livestream VR will be one of these experiences to make everything feel more real.

He is also the person who created the first prototypes for KIIROO’s line of interactive sex toys back in 2013/2014

Bender – Please tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got into the adult industry?

Maurice – I was a derivatives trader for 14 years until 2012 when I decided to do something else. I didn’t like trading anymore, it was a very stressful career. 3D printing was going strong in 2012 and it was really on the rise at the time. Livestream VR will be one of these experiences to make everything feel more real. What we particularly like about Livestream VR for the webcam is that it enables many people to experience a very intimate moment with the performer at the same time. The ability to look around the room will make the entire room a theater and will set the stage and mood before they actually perform, whether it is a dungeon, a girl’s room, a public place etc. The setting will add to the experience and the closeness will create an unrivaled intimacy.

User feedback from our customers and webcam performers aid the development of future products and apps that we create. Our customers are our pride, and we love to innovate to keep our customers happy.

Bender – How would you rate the current state of VR Technology?”

Maurice – The problem with VR is that you need to see it before you believe it. And, when you see it for the first time, it needs to be a good experience or else you may not watch it again VR has made a huge leap forward with more budget-friendly headset options, and it is now moving more and more mainstream because people are aware of what VR has to offer.

In the past, VR webcams have not been affordable or good enough to use for the mainstream webcam. Terpon, for instance, has brought down the cost of webcams for performers that want to Livestream in VR. This helps performers create more live and exciting content to attract more people to watch their rooms. Terpon is also giving away over 1,000 free VR cameras to top performers and studios from a wide range of webcam sites. Because of this initiative, we can expect the VR webcam industry to gradually start growing more towards VR.

We, KIIROO have also recently integrated with XVR.CHAT. We know that immersive VR is the next frontier in adult entertainment, so this partnership will be a fruitful one.

However, there are some setbacks for the technology, which can be overcome as the technology becomes better and smaller. VR headsets are still relatively big and heavy, and they are sometimes uncomfortable to wear for a long period of time. Alongside this, setting up a VR experience with interactive toys takes time the first few times you do it. As an industry, we are working hard to make this experience as fluent as possible.

You are known to always be wearing stylish and trendy outfits, but behind the fancy façade, we discovered a tough, multifaceted, and wise entrepreneur. It sounds like your imprint on the Tarpon business is way more important than people may think. CamLife Magazine values empowered women, so thank you so much for taking that time to sit down with us here to answer some questions for our readers.  Thanks, Bender, for the kind words. It is a real pleasure to be here with you, and I am eager to get feedback on info@terpon.com from your many readers, more especially from performers and studios who represent our opening B2B market. You, with your husband JC, are the two co-founders of Terpon Corp. He previously told me that you are the one who decided to start this business. Is that true, and what was the opportunity you foresaw? In fact, the initial opportunity presented to JC was to design a complex VR camera for an adult content producer. It was obviously not scalable, so not interesting for him until he brought that into our morning discussion and brainstorming routine. I am passionate about psychology, sociology, or should I say humans in general. Sexuality is, therefore, one of the subjects I care about as it is an essential part of our vital needs. I recommended that JC go deeper under the cusp, especially into the growing live cam vertical where it’s all about succeeding to create interactive relations that result in a financial transaction. Virtual Reality was obviously the next step to go beyond a simple e-frame and to offer a telepresent realistic feeling. I knew that day that we were probably touching something big and that it will only be the first step toward a global ecosystem for digital sexuality, the one that has been depicted by many science fiction authors. After JC’s market investigation over a few months, we took the decision to co-invest in Terpon. Consequently, to your question, I will prefer to say that it was a mutual decision based on pure rationales, even if, yes, I was the one to push it hard at its inception. Wow, so you also personally invested in Terpon. Can you tell us more about your background? Self-made woman, I went for a job in my youth. My dream was big but unclear… I was for sure always thinking about how to improve people’s lives with many business ideas. Finally, to satisfy my artistic soul as well as my passion for the complexity and the beauty of humankind, I went back to school in my 20s, investing in a 5-year acting curriculum. The discovery of the “Method Acting” from Stanislavski’s system was a life-revelation and put my focus on everything that seeks to encourage sincere and emotionally expressive performances. Now, I can really value how much it has been useful in my day-to-day business relations. As it was quite expensive, after 3 years I decided to challenge myself and become an exotic dancer in the most prestigious club in Montreal. Business minded, I put clear goals for each of my working days, and a clear deadline for this activity: 2years. Indeed, it went quite well and, a few years after I quit, I was capable of using my savings to significantly invest in the Terpon venture.  This side-path experience helped me to understand and respect the live cam performers who seriously plan to grow and convert their fan-base into a recurrent revenue-stream. It takes time to entertain viewers as often as possible with freshness. Virtual Reality is one of the answers available right now. 2-3 years ago, it was the time to pioneer with simply connected toys when many were thinking it would never take over on such a scale. Now, almost all the rooms are equipped, and I guarantee you that it will be the same with immersive technologies. Thanks for sharing that. CamLife Magazine Interview’s  Teerpon’s Valérie Artonne”Behind

Hello Valerie, since 2017 industry partners have met you at different trade shows.

From my own experience as an entrepreneur every project every company has to overcome certain hurdles, I believe that this experience not only makes for a better project, but it makes you better as a person and as an entrepreneur. What are your thoughts on this? And, what hurdles have you had to overcome as an entrepreneur?

In our case, our engineers have managed the hardware development well. The first 1,000 cameras’ components are ready for assembly. What was underestimated was the velocity of adoption from the cam sites who all were waiting to see who will be the first to go…

I can tell you today, that the first one to be fully operational is XVR.CHAT and it is not a surprise to see a new site decided to go with full VR in order to have strong differentiation. We believe they will be very successful as a few hundred top performers from various leading platforms already have confirmed to us they will split their traffic with XVR as they want to offer more to their clients and attract new ones to their rooms.

Now, several well-known platforms are trying to bridge the gap and are integrating our solution. It was the signal our financial partners were expecting, and it makes me very confident.

To your question about making us better facing difficulties, I will say that it has tested our limits and resilience. I think that it has made both of us, JC and me, humbler, and pragmatic, thanks to our team, the models and all the studios who have supported us from day one. They will recognize themselves.

Talking about the team, how would you say that working with your partner in life helped strengthen your relationship as JC told me, and how do you balance business with your personal life?

it is easy to answer how we currently balance personal and professional life. There is, in fact, no balance, no boundaries, we are literally all-in. It makes us happy as we are both hard-workers and passionate about the Terpon project. Beyond a simple investment consideration, JC and I are sharing the same vision in Terpon and that resonates so well with our values.

If you were a fly on the wall, you would rapidly understand that our debates are quite animated. We are not always agreeing on the way to conduct the business or to choose the best people. I am most probably the one who is the more vocal, LOL. At the same time, we are both very complimentary and have a lot of admiration for each other.

The key point is that we always agree at the end on one point: we really love and care very much for each other!

Also, don’t think I am not active in my duties as a wife and mother. I am also a very dedicated mum and that’s why I was more behind the front line during the first years of our adorable kid’s life. Now, watch out, it is time for me to be in the battle.

Amazing, so what’re your exact duties at Terpon?I understand that you have taken recently the position of Chief Brand Officer.

Terpon in Greek mythology was the devoted servant of Aphrodite and Dionysus. It is an inspiration for us to be sincerely dedicated to our customers’ needs and demands. To start with the live performers and studios who are now using our VR cameras and within the end of this year the general public with new elegant and exclusive connected devices we are crafting.

Also, at Terpon, we feel very responsible on a societal point of view, as we are touching an essential human need, sexuality. Therefore, we put all our future business and product developments under a highly ethical lens. That’s one of the reasons we are currently discussing partnerships with some universities on researchers about the new digital sexuality trends, their economic, psychological and sociological impact.

All of this effort requires special attention, as well as a clear statement for outsiders.

Since Terpon’s inception, I have been the one in charge of our brand positioning, it is just a way to make it official and to reinforce my role as Cerberus or guardian, if you prefer, of the company and brand values.

Obviously, you are spending a lot of effort and devotion in your developments. So, tell us, how do you think VRand Terpon’soffer will change camming?

It may surprise you a lot, but I really think that VR will not change camming, camming will change VR!Let me explain…Going VR for the camsites will not magically overnight increase their revenues, but for sure, it will continue to onboard new tech-savvy customers in the upcoming years.I am especially thinking about generation X, fully involved in the digital era, and generation Y, the Millennials, who have been raised with the internet. Almost a billion hyper connected people, who are now at or approaching their tip of consumption capabilities, and, for many who are suffering from loneliness. Some serious surveys demonstrate solo-sexuality is becoming the preferred sexual behavior for a fast-growing already two-digit percentage of this population. They are the perfect target for what I like to call the virtual love that is becoming day after day close to a reality in terms of feelings using new VRand haptic technologies.

Not being ready for this new customer and this technological revolution, in a very competitive environment, is for sure missing the train and all its future opportunities. Some top-models and best studios have clearly understood the opportunity and have bought the ticket. Being first to catch this market will give them a tremendous advantage, without spoiling their current customer base, as they will still broadcast traditional 2D streams through our cameras. Moreover, they will continue to offer more and more of what clients always want. At least they need to be given the choice!

Therefore, it will be the performers who will change the camming industry and not the technology itself. One of the reasons it was so important for us to invest so much in brand awareness over the last 2 years. Our ambassadors and the one-to-two thousand beta-testers, we are currently equipping with our 1,000 generations zero Hermes cameras, will split their traffic and will carry-along with them their fan-base to the sites that will be compatible with VR broadcasting, such as the new site XVR.CHAT, or on a platform like Skyprivate.

That said, several important sites are working on the integration, so we expect the models will keep their loyalty when it will be possible. The implementation of our technology is now quite easy, and we are not asking the camsites to pay any royalties or fees for that, nor for the camera usage, nor to the final users. Our business model is simple, we rent the camera at an affordable price to the models and to the studios directly. I can assure you that Terpon wants to serve fairly and equally all the industry. To conclude on this important question, the camming is to our point of view the key to enabling VR in most homes. To be interesting VR content must be interactive and engaging, that’s exactly why media and market survey agencies are betting on video-gaming, and why we are betting on camming. We see this market trend with a major difference: for camming is possible to have a great set up with a cardboard headset for less than $30-or better yet-a less-than-$200 standalone headsets.

We’ll see how our affiliate program works to distribute headsets. I will tell you more after a test period and we will start very soon with a few of our top ambassadors. If it delivers the promises from our first survey, it will be a significant source of additional revenues for sites and performers.

So, many things are on the burner as I understand…Now we here at Cam Life Magazine pride ourselves on being the pulse of the live webcam community so can you tell us about any other projects that you are working on?

Indeed, many things will be announced over the next months as we have first to see how much investment we will be capable of raising. Being in hardware is never as easy as being in software or services, so the working capital requirement is a lot more demanding.

For sure, I can tell you that sometime around this summer we will have both an improved version of the Hermes that we plan to rent between $30 and $40 per month, and a new concept of input device that will allow clients to enjoy even more the currently available toys on the market. For the camera, we will be able to reach the maximum resolution and quality that it can offer. It will be amazing. And for the input device, we will try to reinforce partnership with innovative manufacturers such as Kiiroo as we believe a global immersive solution will enhance the customer’s pleasure, and therefore retention and revenues that the industry will be able to generate over such complete experiences.

That’s for the company. And as the CBO, my main goal for 2019 and 2020 is to develop a community of enthusiastic users in the Adult Entertainment Industry as well as in the general public, with a special focus on all the Sexual Wellness side of our business which within 2 years will represent most ofTerpon’srevenues.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to sit down with us here at Cam Life Magazine we hope to continue to work and grow your you and your team.“VR will not change camming, camming will change VR”

Now two of the most prominent buzzwords are being combined, as VR Webcams became available, thanks to the intensive work of innovating companies. We sat down with the Terpon team to learn more about their path through the past and into the future. During the recent WTF summit in Russia, you created the excitement and attention that raised the interest of everyone there by disclosing that Virtual Reality is now accessible to 100% of the audience. Can you tell us more? From top influencers to tech-users, almost everybody agrees that Virtual and Augmented Reality is about to shift our world and will contribute to reconnect people and their environment together by digitally enriching all our daily tasks. The big question is when will this happen? For Terpon, since its inception, content has always been seen as the key into the resolution of the current VR chicken-and-egg status quo, and adult entertainment will be essential to that democratization quest as it is reaching the interest of most of the people all around our world. More content of interest will incentivize more users to buy headsets, more VR headsets will encourage more content creation. Today, we are not saying something different, but, we are admitting we were wrong on our communication and approach: the future success of VR live cam is not residing into the chicken-and-egg dilemma’s resolution, but, into the clear understanding of what aVR camera can really deliver right now without any compromise: a native digital pan, tilt, and zoom (PTZ) functionality. To better illustrate this, we can compare what happened during the transition between VHS tapes to DVDs. No one was thinking about losing the customers who were not yet equipped with DVD players, everyone was just producing on both mediums until the extinction of the first one became obvious. It should be the same with VR cameras; it can broadcast a standard 2D video stream that can be watched by all customers without any VR headset requirement. In fact, it is even better as this transition is bringing by itself tremendous benefit for the users at almost no cost for the broadcasters. It is now possible to remotely manipulate the point of view and reframe the video the way you want. Which for live content is far more interesting than for recorded content that has been purposely framed by a director. Imagine that you can give the control individually to all the users or especially to the “king” of the room who is paying more to take that control. Imagine you can play with interactive toys at the same time and allow clients to focus on what is their most exciting view. There is no doubt you will find ways to increase their involvement and your revenues… It is so frustrating that during the last two years it was there in front of us, and it never occurred to me that it was way more than a non-essential sub-functionality, Digital PTZ is the feature that will make all the difference. Now, Terpon is actively developing easy to integrate software solutions to enable this level of interactivity in a live cam performance. So, to your question, I can answer yes, 100% of your customers will be able to enjoy a 2D HD quality show with additional freedom and interactivity when you will perform in front of our Hermes cameras. Are you saying that VR headsets are useless? Not at all, I am just saying that instead to consider PTZ functionality as an option; and we see VR as a privilege to those who already own such devices. In fact, we strongly believe that thanks to this approach, it allows us to reach 100% of your audience and the fact that we are about to distribute 1,000 cameras will create that critical mass to enable VR headset acquisition as this has never been done in the past. To encourage this, we will offer soon a PPS affiliate program where models, studios and/or sites will be rewarded on promoting headsets to their hundred-million viewers. The potential of revenue is real, but it will have to be addressed wisely as many from this audience are not willing to pay on an Adult site. Our approach will be therefore to redirect to a custom mainstream platform which we are currently in the process of creating. CamLife Company Spotlight Terpon Reloaded

Terpon Reloaded: Hermes VR Cameras are Now Accessible By 100% Of TheLive CamAudiencewithout the need for headsets.

Whether it was the move to VHS from film, the dominance of mobile media over desktop content, live streaming overshadowing prerecorded video, or a list too long to write that would cover all the innovations in hosting, payment processing, and cinematography –Adult is almost always there first, and the rewards are tremendous.

Imagine you can play with interactive toys at the same time and allow clients to focus on what is their most exciting view. There is no doubt you will find ways to increase their involvement and your revenues…

It is so frustrating that during the last two years it was there in front of us, and it never occurred to me that it was way more than a non-essential sub-functionality, Digital PTZ is the feature that will make all the difference.

The idea to remotely maneuver a camera is undoubtedly interesting as it contributes to increasing the final user involvement and therefore its satisfaction and retention. Unfortunately, current platforms latency induced awful effects. Indeed, the time it takes for a final user’s action to be gratified with an observable positive effect is often reaching 10 seconds or more. When dealing with tip and sex toys it is already annoying, but when it comes to manipulating a camera it just becomes impossible.

With our viewing solution, the manipulation is on the global hemispherical image so the PTZ function is achieved in real-time on the stream. Camera motions are therefore smooth, precise and easy to control from fingertips or your mouse. We do not see any technical difficulties to adapt our solution to the one you have mentioned in your question if it is requested by the said campsite or its users.

Moreover, we can propose “Theia”, our new WebRTC management solution, to the sites that would like to step into the new broadcasting era and a way to contribute to a significant reduction in latency, in fact, we can approach light speed connectivity. As for example, we can currently obtain 3K/4K bi-directional live video communication below 100ms across the Atlantic.

Sounds like you offer a lot more than just the VR Cameras?

Yes, we have worked a lot on many different topics that converge to the resolution of the challenges that Live VR is facing.

Latency is one of them, as to create a perfect immersive experience you need to provide a real-time interaction, especially when in one-to-one private sessions where a client is using his voice to communicate with the model. As said, we have now a reliable and efficient solution that we offer for free to the site who are working on our integration.

Bandwidth and bitrate limitation is also an issue we must face as VR content requires to transmit a lot of data. For that, we have partnered with a fast-growing company in the mainstream that has developed a new encoding technology called“Perseus™” that enables reduction by 50% to 70% of the size of any video without requiring massive computing capability.

And finally, we also have investigated a lot in the haptic technologies to develop a new generation of connected toys that will go beyond all of what you know as of today. As for us, it can’t be possible to imagine a global emotional and sensorial experience without interacting with all our senses.

But this is a story we will be pleased to tell you more about a few months…

All of this looks great, but how do you explain that it took so long for you to bring these cameras to the market when many were waiting for them? Don’t you think it is too many hooks and lines in the water? And what to expect from Terpon now?

Firstly, I would like to apologize to the ones who supported us from the beginning and who were so eagerly waiting for the Hermes launch. It is fair to ask such questions. I assume total responsibility for this delay.

As you underline it, we received a great and enthusiastic welcome over 2017. What I can say is that even if a few have momentarily decided to walk away, more every day are reaching out to us to ask for our solution.

To answer your first question, several factors have delayed our global launch, but the most important one is that I have totally underestimated the inertia of the industry.

As a new-be and in reference to what we have already covered previously in this interview, I was believing that this industry will be very proactive and will adapt fast to all new cutting-edge solutions. As a global industry is true that the Adult Entertainment is a powerful vehicle for innovations, but as a matter of fact when you are paying more attention you discover that many of the ones who were successful are unwilling to question and change their approaches: “Why to change something that works!”That’s the reason why the big players in the printed charm magazines have failed and went bankrupt. That is also the reason why live cam site owners are for many of them, newcomers, compared to the ones who made a fortune in the recorded content, and why now the VR revolution is supported again by new players.

We were believing that focusing only on delivering a plug-and-play good quality VR camera will be enough and that all the platforms will internally develop their own VR viewing solutions now VR development language such as Unity™ are becoming commodities. Most of them did it with Flash™ and maybe it is also part of the problem as now it is an obsolescence platform that can’t perform with real-time telepresence systems.

Our cameras were ready to assemble in Q2-2017 as forecasted and have been delivered to some sites’ labs over Q3-Q4 2017 as promised. Just that to develop the new environment and find additional solutions means also more liquidities and it happened that simultaneously, Valerie and I were facing a shortage in our liquidities due to an independent event from Terpon itself. As we were the main investors in the project at that time, even if we had invested over a million dollars ourselves, we had no choice than to slow down the business, regroup our human resources, and recruit new highly qualified talent to manage successfully all our debts. Since then, we have brought over $1.2m more into the business with a successfully oversubscribedReg.D round, we have found software solutions for the platforms, discussed some major M&A, and more importantly, we finally can afford the delivery and the support for our first batch of 1,000 cameras.

So, our strategy is not defocused at all, we are just dedicated to building and providing a global and profitable ecosystem to the benefit of all the live cam players. What you can expect next is a lot of fun for 100% of your users and additional revenues for you.

We are doing business FOR the industry and WITH the industry.

When saying this are you alluding to opening your capital to the performers and the studios as we heard about that possibility from a few of your well-known partners?

You’re well informed! As you are saying, it is a possibility we are exploring as we believe in leveraging businesses with sharing upside opportunities with the one who contributes the most to their success. Why not imagine in the following years a sex-tech company to go public on the main stock exchange?

The potential is here. The Sexual Wellness market is already the size of the business-jet industry or the digital tablet industry and is still rapidly growing… Solo-sexuality among the millennial and following generation is not anymore a myth but a strong trend that will reshape the industry now taboos are falling one by one, country per country.

I will be proud if Terpon becomes one of the leading companies in that sphere, but a lot of steps have to be achieved before that. Helping you to give new degrees of freedom and interactivity to your enthusiastic customers our current mission. Being in the first to propose our new PTZ functionality will give you a serious advantage over your competitors.

Thanks for your time, it was a pleasure to meet you today and hopefully we will learn more about that investment opportunity very soon.

Was my pleasure as well, stay tuned and by the end of this month, I promise you that you will have all the details in regards to that investment opportunity.
